The right way to scold your child?

Is there a right way of disciplining our children? Make this slight tweak and make your life easy.
Don't be a bad boy. You are a bad girl. We have been told this multiple times when we were growing up. Or we tend to tell that to our children at the moment. Is there a better way of saying that. Consider saying instead, you're not being a good boy or you will not be a good boy if you do that. We're just turning around. But it makes a huge difference. None of us like to be told we are bad. Do we? The moment when we tell our children that you are being a bad boy, or a bad girl, you're putting them in a bracket of being bad, they have nothing else to prove you've already told them they're bad. The same time when we tell our children that don't do that. Then you will not be a good boy. They don't want to do something which is going to make them not good. So it's just turning it around it plays in a subconscious level. Next time when your kids are doing something which you don't like instead of telling them you're a bad boy, you're a bad girl, try saying, if you do that, you will not be a good boy, or a good girl and see the difference.
