Belgian Malinois power can be stopped with one word from owner
Peaches is much smaller than Cowboy. But she is 3 years old, Cowboy is still a clumsy puppy. He will be 1 year old the end of this month. They play so rough with each other but all it takes is one word from me to stop the rough housing or in this case to leave something like the armadillo carcass alone.

Sharing my burger with a wild cat and kittens.
Yesterday we went to cut my Mother-in-laws grass. As I past the abandoned chicken coop I saw movement. I stopped to check it out. It was a wild cat and her kittens. When I got to close she broke to run. She couldn’t get through the fencing ,so haha was about to panic. I backed off so she would go back to her kittens. I went and got a half a hamburger that I had not finished and broken into small pieces. With the food in hand, I went back to the chicken coop. I was able to go in without totally freaking her out. I started by throwing her a piece at a time. Then slowly letting her take it out of my hand. Slowly, I scratched her with one finger on the head. She decided that felt pretty good about as good as those pieces of hamburger Tatian on the poor little girls empty belly. Finally, she decided that the scratching was just good. It’s a wonderful morsels that she was being allowed to eat. I did not pick her up for anything. But hopefully we can get her to a good home for her and the kittens.

IIt’s Zak’s birthday !!!!! He is 8 years old today. I can’t believe it’s been that long . He makes the best service dog and co-pilot. He watches everything I’m looking at, not just wAtching me . He is a great role model ,pack leader and sometimes disciplinarian,, for the two Belgian Malinois. Zak has more patience with Peaches and Cowboy and the litter of 6 puppies that peach had a while back. Zak dog is just the best! He can read my feelings so well. He has comforted many people in the ICU unit. Soaked up many tear in his fluffy head . And brought a moment of light into dark situations for many. He is my service dog but if he can help others through tough times,. Not me. He’s one of a kind, but all of my dogs are.🤭

Thank God for well trained dogs!!!😲🐩🐕🐕🐶
Today I had all 3 dogs with me when I checked the mail. I didn’t think to put collars on them . Didn’t think I’d see anyone. That neighbor’s dog had been killed chasing cars. Well to my surprise they had a new dog. It came charging out barking like crazy at us. My cart is totally open, no doors. All I could do is holler “STAY “ over the sound of the cart. To my relief all 3 of my dogs stayed in place without barking. Since my dogs didn’t bark back at the dog charging us, it just sat down when I hollered stay. It did keep barking but stopped chasing at least.
I was really proud of my three for not barking back. Or God forbid jumping out of the cart and getting into a fight. Thank the Lord for training.

When you have a working dog breed, put them to work.!!🐕🐕
When you have a working dog breed, like a Belgian Malinois, put them to work. The best thing you could do for them and yourself. We had some limbs come down the other night, but they were still stuck partially in the tree. Peaches had no problem pulling that big old limb on down. She loves helping anyway.

Lots of good catfish from our jug fishing day on the Coosa River,Lay Lake.🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
We went jug fishing yesterday. We had to go fishing with our rods first to catch the bait to put on the lines while we jug fished. We caught seven nice, eating size catfish. And the sunset as we came in was to die for. It was so beautiful. All the way around. It was a wonderful trip today on the coast river.

A little little rat hunting with that Malinois Drive!!!🐕🐕🐩
Anyone with a chicken pen knows their are going to have a few(or lots)of rats and mice cleaning up the chicken feed. On our last walk for the night we stop by the chicken for a little rat control. Last night they did good and caught 2 rats. I love that Malinois drive.

Spring has sprung! And we have kittens!🐈🐈🐈⬛
I’m had just gotten back from searching for a missing cow that we knew was probably giving birth. Calf video to come. I went into the lower barn and heard the faint sound of kittens. I looked through the bales of hay. To find three precious kittens. They look to be 7 to 10 days old. Their eyes have just opened. So if anyone needs a kitten, I have three that need good homes.🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈🐈

Lots of good fishing today!!!🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
We went Jug fishing in the morning and caught a huge mess of fish. Then I took the dogs over to the river to run and play. I decided to throw in a couple of lines while I waited on them . I first caught a few nice size brim. Then I hooked the big catfish!!! It’s so fun when you feel the fish bump the line, you wait ,anticipating that sudden pull on the line. You take up any slack ,then set the hook. Hoping the whole time he doesn’t get off when you life him out of the water. Well I was able to reach the net and it didn’t get away.
After I landed the pretty blue catfish. I heard a splash behind me. There was a BIG Flat head catfish on that line even better than the first. I let my husband pull the flathead up out if the water. I was afraid I would drop it. Good day on the Coosa river today.

Abused rescue dog learns new trick. She so proud of herself!!🐕
Peaches was a very badly abused rescue dog. She been hard to train because she’s afraid of be beat if she doesn’t get it right the first time. The dogs were rearing up on the tree anyway so I ask her to do that act. Twice she rested up on the tree. I then added stay to it. The first time she broke the stay command. I didn’t fuss at her for that. Instead I praised her for what she did right. You could tell by her body language she was ready to shutdown or run. The last time I ask for t he stay, she stayed until I gave the release word “OK”. Peaches and I was proud of her.

My latest embroidery art. 🐕
As most of you know I do pet portraits. Thus is my latest one that I just finished. It’s a child with his Rhode Island Ridgeback dog. I made it for a family that helped me when I was in a timer slave with a broken down car. They had never met me before, and they went above and beyond to help me with my problem at the time. So I got the man to send me some pictures of his dogs. When I saw the picture of his dog and son curled up together on the couch, and it was the perfect gift for them. I turned it over to the man which was very impressed and he is going to give it to his wife as a present. I should’ve told him to try to video the first time his wife saw it that I forgot to. Maybe next time.

Belgian Malinois try so hard to bring log up the embankment!!🐕🐕
Peaches tried so hard to get log up the embankment. She tried to shorten it. Then she and Cowboy tried together. If they had jumped at the same time they may have succeeded.

Horses love the water too!! 🐎
Little Bit loves the water. She is 25 years old now .came from a disbursement of a wild herd of Pasafino‘s. She was a pitiful little yearling. Someone had put a halter on her as a baby, and I guess never came back. It was growing into the ridge of her nose. She still carries those scars. I would hate for her not to have a pond to play in. I rescued her from a life of pain and neglect. I was at a very low point in my life also. So through the doctoring, taming , and training, she also rescued me. I have always been my best around animals. And if one needs me, I’m going to be there. So there, now who rescued who.

Belgian Malinois dog unsure of deer!
Cowboy wasn’t to sure of the deer statues . He couldn’t understand why they didn’t run from him. He kept looking in the direction they were looking, wondering what they saw.
It was good service dog training. He never barked or growled.👍🐕.

Terrified rescue dog learns it’s fun to learn new tricks
I rescued Peaches about a year and a half ago. It took her a full year to learn to trust again. She was so afraid to try anything new. She was afraid of getting in trouble so she would just shut down. Peaches has finally watched the other two dogs that I have , enjoy learning. You can see it in her eyes how much she enjoys learning now.

Belgian Malinois verses Rat : What a leap of faith!!🐀🐕🐕😳
Anyone that has chickens knows there is always mice or rats around that cleanup the leftover chicken feed. It’s the dogs job to help keep the mice in check. This little rat is smarter than the average rat. It has learned to use the top rail of the fence as its personal highways. Then uses that Malinois drive against the dogs.
Look at the leap of faith the rat makes at the end. No this rat didn’t get caught. This time! 🐀🐕🐕😳

Wildlife on the Coosa River- Juvenile Bald Eagles, Cormorants, and Great Blue Herrings.
There was lots of wildlife living on the Kehs River this morning. First all the cormorants flew in. Then I had a wonderful flyby of a couple of juvenile bald eagles. It takes 2 to 3 years for them to develop their beautiful white heads and tail feathers. And then the great blue herring made his arrival. Always lots of wildlife on the Coosa river.
