Everyone perceives us based on our attire or body language. Is it really important to be dressed according to the occasion? Yes, it is or you should be Elon Musk to smoke weed in the studio or Steve Jobs to wear a black t-shirt every time. These people have already earned their title and once you are there then there are no questions asked. Is it wrong to be judgmental? Of course not. We cannot avoid judging anyone or anything but the only thing we can avoid is acting on our judgments. When we see people dressed differently or from different races or in different professions, then we tend to judge them in our subconscious mind. It is a natural phenomenon but what we can avoid is acting on those judgments till we are proven right.

We have heard this multiple times that women are more intuitive than men, but do you know the reason why? Women generally tend to observe things around them more thus the things registered in their subconscious memory is much more than men. Do we really ask for help? Let me take you through four scenarios where the style of communication made all the difference. Scenario one - A person is hospitalized and his friend calls his wife to tell her to ask him if she needs anything. Another friend calls and asks for the prescription that I would get the medicines for you. Scenario two - A parent tells his son to ask him for money when he needs it. On the other side, another parent hands over the money to make use of it. Scenario three - A new person joins office and of his colleagues welcomes him and tells him to ask for help as and when he needs it. Another colleague takes him around the entire office and makes him part of the space. Scenario four - Your friend is in town and you tell him to ask you for a car if he needs it. Another friend offers that I have a spare car with me, so please make use of it and hands over the keys. In every scenario, people needed help but any guesses on whom will they take help from? The second person in each case. It is the way you communicate and offer to help makes all the difference. We all do activities to make someone happy, either our loved ones or sometimes even strangers. However, for us actions are categorised only in two categories - good or bad, but how about if there is a third category - neutral? We have been conditioned to think only two-fold - good or bad but what we think as doing good is just being neutral. Like your children not creating trouble for you is not good, its just being neutral. In company meetings, a colleague told me that someone approached her for a job and she agreed to help however, she did not collect his resume while leaving. Thus agreeing to help was just being neutral and collecting the resume while leaving would have been good. Thus, we must try and categorise every actions into three - Good, bad & neutral. Everyone in business creates invoices for their customers. Amongst all the line items are a few items whose pricing is quite well known to the customer. In the video, it's about coke, whose pricing is well known to everyone. Amongst all the items if we misquote the price of coke the client would never trust us as he is not really able to check and compare the pricing of other expensive items. It was when Chris Rock cracked a joke about Jada Smith on which Will Smith laughed initially and then got really furious and slapped Chris. We often tell our spouse or kids or parents that "You are not listening to me". Is that actually the case? We are always listening but we might not agree with what they are saying. When we pay attention to something we are hearing, we term it listening. However, when we listen to someone, we analyze what they say but we might not agree with it. This is mostly termed as not listening, whereas, we are not obeying the other person. Next time, when someone tells you, "You are not listening to me". The words belief, trust & faith are interchangeably used but is there a difference in the meaning of these words? If a new team member joins the company, we have belief in them by seeing their CV. As you seem to work with them for longer, you develop trust in them & as time passes further, we develop faith in them. That's the same way in relationships. There are many instances when you are in a meeting and you get a lot of missed calls. Whose call will you return first? Imagine a scenario when you received missed calls from your family/ friends, your company and a client. Whose call will you return first? In many cases, the call to be returned first is of the client, then the company & friends and family come last. Are we taking our family for granted? Most of us have this notion that we can meditate only by using these conventional methods of meditation. Most of us meditate. But do we know which stage we have reached or what is the purpose of our meditation? The way we set goals for everything we want to achieve, the same way we also must set goals for meditation. Meditating without goals is like driving a car without knowing the destination. We might sit for hours meditating or chanting a mantra but with no goal, we would not reach anywhere. Once we know the desired destination we can make efforts accordingly and make it possible. We would attain happiness, success, or even peace of mind only when it is a goal for us and we make efforts accordingly. We can reach New York or Delhi only when we are driving on the right path. Otherwise, we would be driving in circles and not reaching anywhere despite making the best of our efforts. Thus, goal setting in meditation is crucial just like any other activity.

We all meditate for happiness, peace of mind, controlling anger, alleviating stress but have you ever wondered about the real objective of meditation. We all only focus towards thoughtlessness when we meditate but is that the ultimate objective of meditation? Whenever we meditate we must focus only on one thought that is chanting a mantra or working on our breathwork or listening to music. There is no state of thoughtlessness as every second we will definitely have some thought. Even the thought of being thoughtless is a perturbing thought in our mind when we meditate. The ultimate objective of meditation is for thoughts to come but not bother us. That is, we must learn to live in the moment. Once we reach that stage we would know how to live in the moment and that is the ultimate objective of meditation.

What is the ultimate objective of meditation? Is it possible to stop meditating and still be in the same state of bliss and happiness? The video talks about the ultimate objective of meditation. The way we exercise to lose weight, the same way we meditate for our mind to be happy. The way once we lose weight we can stop meditating, the same way once we reach a certain state we can stop meditating. Life is like a river full of crocodiles, we have to get used to the crocodiles splashing but to still know that we are safe in the boat. The crocodiles in life are our future and past thoughts. The primary objective of meditation is to ensure that no thoughts come in during meditation. It might take us some thousand sessions of starting again till no thought comes to our mind. The secondary objective of meditation is to let the thoughts come but not affect us. In the crocodile analogy, this means we can remove the blindfold now and feel that they cant affect us. Let us compare it to a flat tyre corollary. We have to fix the puncture if our tyre is punctured. If we keep filling the air and driving, it would only be temporary. The same way we have to change our mindset and accept the thoughts coming in without affecting us, otherwise meditation would just be like filling air in a punctured tyre. Therefore, the ultimate objective of meditation is to stop meditating and still be happy and in the same meditative state.
