Drive Across Toquerville Falls On This 4x4 Traily
What is this trail and waterfall all about?
Toquerville Falls is a beautiful 3-tier waterfall along the La Verkin Creek, which runs into the Virgin River. The 4x4 trail to get there is a fun, relatively easy trail with amazing panoramic views along the way. The falls themselves are a popular sunbathing spot and hangout for the locals, but is also visited by many adventuring tourists.
Where is this trail and waterfall?
Toquerville Falls is located north of St. George, UT and only a few miles from Zion National Park. The trail is located on the north side of town in Toquerville on Spring Dr. which turns from asphalt to dirt about 1 mile in. The total drive into the falls is 5.3 miles.
How difficult is the trail?
Much of the trail is easy and can be done by any stock SUV; however, there are a couple spots where both high clearance and 4WD would make it easier. We did see some stock pickup trucks at the falls though, so it can be done.
Is the trail in and out, or a loop?
Yes, it's either/or!! You have two options once you reach Toquerville Falls. You can either return the way you came or you can drive across the top of the falls and finish the loop that will bring you back out near the beginning of the trail. BUT...yes, BUT!!!!! it would be EXTREMELY challenging for a stock and/or 2WD vehicle to complete the loop past the waterfall, so I would only recommend it for 4WD vehicles with decent ground clearance. We had friends with us in a stock 2dr Rubicon and they had no issues with careful tire placement.

Off-roading at Sand Hollow State Park, UT
This episode: Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane, UT is one of the most awesome parks we’ve ever been to! Along with the 1,300 acre reservoir that’s great for swimming, boating, and fishing, there is also an RV park and a 15,000 acre OHV (Off-Highway Recreational Vehicle) area that has sand dunes, rock crawling, obstacles, and epic views in every direction!
While most would say that Zion National park should be the highlight of a visit to this area, Sand Hollow State Park OHV was the highlight for me!
This is a video from a “day of play”at Sand Hollow with some friends of ours. We had a blast and could spend days exploring this place; we barely scratched the surface!
PSA: No Jeeps were injured in the making of this video. 😜😂
