This one-hour webinar will help take the mystery out of detoxification, so you can stop worrying and start clearing.
You Will Learn:
- Why everyone must detoxify to get and/or stay healthy
- How the body actually gets rid of toxins
- How to support your body so it can detox without making you sick

The 5 Most Important Issues You Must Consider When Working with Mental Health | Webinar May 21, 2021
On Monday May 21, 2021, IHN hosted a 1 hour webinar with Paul Demeda where he unpacked the idea that what you eat affects how you feel and is accepted by significant numbers of the public and healthcare professionals alike. It’s a pillar of mental health that is well supported by current research. However, food and nutrients are rarely considered as a key strategy for supporting cognitive, behavioural, and emotional well-being. Mental health issues are predictably an ever-increasing problem in today’s world. The mainstream medical approach has issues with ineffectiveness and unpleasant side effects, which leaves many sufferers turning to the holistic approach for better solutions.
You Will Learn:
- How nutrition affects mental health
- How foods and nutrients support or compromise the way the brain works
- The five key factors that have the greatest impact on supporting or damaging mental health
- The essential nutrients for any basic brain-health protocol

Gut Hormones
Your “gut instinct” is right – the gastrointestinal tract is key to your health!
On Tuesday April 30, Linda Bazinet B.Sc. discussed some of the gut hormones that regulate digestion, appetite, and metabolism. The gut not only digests food, providing nutrients for your body, but it also produces many hormones. While it's expected that some of these hormones regulate digestion (such as the secretion of enzymes and movement through the G.I. tract), it may come as a surprise that some also control metabolism and appetite. Interestingly, GLP-1, one of the less-known hormones, forms the basis for the popular medication Ozempic.
In This Webinar We Will Discuss:
• Anatomy of the Gastrointestinal (G.I.) tract, including Crypts of Lieberkühn and Paneth cells
• Stomach Hormones: Gastrin and Ghrelin
• Hormones of the Small Intestine: CCK, Secretin, GIP, Intestinal Gastrin
• Lesser-known hormones: Somatostatin, GLP-1
• GLP-1 Agonists - How Does Ozempic Work?

IHN Virtual Open House April 2021 Comparative Diets: Therapeutic Benefits of the Ketogenic Diet
With Jacqueline Steinert BA, CNP
On the ketogenic diet (keto for short), the body consumes high fats, adequate protein, and low carbohydrates. Cells prefer blood sugar from carbohydrates as fuel, but by restricting carbohydrates and depleting the body of sugar reserves, there is no longer circulating blood sugar from food and the liver breaks down stored fat into molecules and releases these ketone bodies into the blood stream. This process and the resulting metabolic state is deemed ketosis. Once you reach ketosis, most cells will use ketone bodies to generate energy. The body will transition from using circulating glucose to breaking down stored fat as a source of energy. Keto originated in the 1920s as an effective treatment for paediatric epileptic seizures and, in the 1970s, Dr. Atkins popularized his low carbohydrate diet for weight loss that started with a strict two week ketogenic phase. However, the benefits do not stop there.
Join this lecture to learn about all of the therapeutic benefits that the ketogenic diet yields. Consuming fewer food groups along with higher fat and protein foods results in feeling less hungry. It also results in a longer digestion time that ultimately supports weight loss. Besides weight loss, the keto diet more importantly has been effectively used to reduce the frequency of epileptic seizures in children and mitigate symptoms with progressive neurological disorders like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Since the keto diet reduces blood sugar, it can lower the risk of insulin complications and even supplement certain cancer treatments. Heart health (and cholesterol) as well as hormonal disorders such as PCOS have also benefited from a ketogenic diet. Lastly, endurance athletes and body builders also utilize the keto diet to trim fat in rapid time frames. By consuming healthful fats and sufficient proteins such as nuts, seeds, avocados, olive oil, grass fed meats and fatty fish, the body witnesses a wide array of therapeutic benefits from the ketogenic diet!

Applied Iridology in Clinical Practice | Webinar Jan 19 2021
On Tuesday January 19, 2021 IHN hosted a 1 hour webinar, as Robert Tomilson took us on a journey through a fascinating exploration of the Iris and Sclera of the eyes. We observed how to detect weakness in the body long before it manifests as disease. Iridology is a quick, accurate, non-invasive, and painless method of health analysis through the examination of the iris and a perfect “marriage” with any nutritional practice. The iris consists of tiny nerve fibers known as trabecula that reveal the body’s constitution, inherent weakness, level of health, and the transitions that take place in a person’s body according to the way they live. Discover how a simple step-by-step process can not only give you deep insights into various health issues but also maximize your marketability and thoroughly impress your clients.
Watch the Webinar and Learn How To Decipher:
- Underlying danger signs present in the body
- Basic individual food intolerances
- Which digestive enzymes are lacking
- How to interpret emotional thought patterns in the iris
- Personality traits and how they relate to physical imbalances

IHN Virtual Open House Nov 2020 Preventive Health Care | Optimal Health through our Cellular Matrix
With Antonina Bureacenco BA, CNP, ROHP
The biochemical and biomechanical, protective and organizational properties of the cellular matrix in a given tissue can vary tremendously from one tissue to another. Healthy cells form tissues, tissues form organs, organs form systems like your endocrine, neurological, cardiovascular, lymphatic, immune systems and then systems form the body organisms. In this lecture, you will learn how “dis-ease” originates at the cellular level and not at the organ or system level.
Join this lecture to learn how proper nutrition acts as the building blocks, the scaffolding or the matrix of the body, which is comprised of 243 different types of cells. In this talk, we will also uncover what causes these cells to malfunction and what affect the factors of disease processes. When massive amounts of cells malfunction, you malfunction as a whole. Join Antonina Bureacenco, Certified Nutritional and Orthomolecular Practitioner to explore what cellular malfunctioning or Cellular Functional Disorders that are repackaged into 10,000+ diagnosis’ are caused by and what every cell needs to live and function properly.
