The Magic Coin Game - Main Topic #67
The main topic covers an example Jay calls "The Magic Coin Game."
In this game, you gamble money by placing it on a table. A coin is flipped. If it is heads, you double your money. If it is tails, you lose half of your money. In the game, the house is willing to play with you as many times as you would like. Gambling everything every time does not result in any statistical advantage for you. However, you can play this game 100% by the rules and twist the odds in your favor. There can be mathematical certainty that you gain money if you play in a particular way.
This is what makes the coin game magic!
In the end, Jay describes how this game can be an analogy for asset allocation theory in the investing world. At the very least, it is a proof of concept in a simplified context. The math on this one might hurt your brain a little bit!

Top 10 Redundant Insurance Plans - Main Topic #64
The main topic is a count down of the "Top 10 Redundant Insurance Policies" that Jay does not have. You probably don't need these either...
If you are looking to cut costs for your insurance premiums, consider abandoning some of these policies all together. This can be a small help or a game changer for HopeFilled FootStep #2.
As explored in the episode, insurance is intended to defer undue risk that you cannot take on yourself. If the risk is not undue, or you can handle the risk on your own, then is the insurance needed? If the insurance is redundant to another policy, but more limiting, is it needed?

What Are Health Care Sharing Ministries? - Investopedia - Main Topic #63
The main topic is a review of the article "What Are Health Care Sharing Ministries? (HCSMs)" by Investopedia (https://www.investopedia.com/what-are-health-care-sharing-ministries-hcsm-5207450). Jay's commentary on the article should help you know what to research if you are considering a Health Care Sharing Ministry to cover your medical risks. One thing excluded from this article, that you should know about, is that an HCSM will not give you access to an HSA. If having an HSA is a big part of your plan, and HCSM may not be for you.

Today's story is about how trying to increase finite willpower left Jay binging after a 30 day diet. If our willpower is a finite resource, what can we do to actually succeed? Can we apply a strategy in our schedule or environment that reduces the willpower we need to have to succeed? The Improvement Pill video (www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oqWlUfxmn0) helps us expand our understanding of failure, success, and strategy.
