Jesus said in John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." The devil want to steal from us, destroy us, our family, and friends. And ultimately kill us, take our lives. But Jesus came for a different reason, to give us life, abundant life. A life of peace, joy and eternal hope and life in Him. Don't allow the devil to steal from you, or destroy what is yours and don't allow him to take your life from you. Come and you accept Jesus and you will receive eternal life and begin living your abundant life now. Come to Jesus today and experience the abundant life in Him. Pentecost and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In the books of Acts 2:1-4 documents a powerful event that took place on the Day of Pentecost. Jesus before he left this earth told his disciple that he would not leave them alone but would send the Holy Spirit. And that the Holy Spirit would empower them with power from about (heave); that they would be witness for him in all the world. Here is the account of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost: "When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them." The wonderful thing is that the Holy Spirit is still baptizing follower of Jesus with power from above to be witness for Gospel of Jesus. Where is your treasure, heaven, or earth? Jesus said in Matthew 6:19-21: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." We can not take our earthly treasure with us when we leave this life, so our hearts should look to eternal things. Spiritual treasures, our relationship with Jesus Christ, a holy and righteous life are eternal in God. So make sure you store eternal treasures in heaven "where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." I pray these verses will encourage you. God showed His love for us. 1st John 4:9-10 tell us this about God's wonderful love. "This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." These verses reveal God's love: He sent His only Son so we might live through Him. Jesus said I am the way. Jesus was speaking to his disciples and John 14:6 these amazing words "I Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus is God's gift of love. John 3:16 is the most amazing verse in the bible. It speaks of God's incredible love for us and the price he paid for our salvation. The price was his son Jesus. Here are the word's spoken by Jesus himself: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." He continues with this clear explanation of God's intention of why he (Jesus) came to earth, again these are the word's of Jesus: "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." Romans 3:23-24 says "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." Romans 6:23 says these amazing words: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Who is the man of suffering? In Isaiah 53 verse 3 to 5 the prophet describes this man who would suffer greatly for others. The text says: "He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed." This man was none other than Jesus Christ himself, who suffered on a cross to save us from eternal death and brings us to eternal life through him.
