Hey everyone, today’s vlog is all about winding down before my surgery next week. I’m turning in the Tesla rental since it doesn’t make sense to keep it for half a week. I plan to borrow my aunt’s CRV and run Uber X over the weekend until Tuesday. It’s been a laid-back day with no specific goals, just cruising through Boca Raton and reflecting on the journey. I’m enjoying the slower pace, especially since it’s a slow season for Uber rides.
I kicked off the day with a guaranteed $150 from my private ride, making it easier to hit my $200 daily goal. Despite some slow days, I managed to stay afloat with airport runs and local rides in Boca. Swim week is starting, and even Uber X rides are coming from luxury hotels to fancy restaurants. It's funny seeing how the clientele changes during this season.
On the way, I talked about the differences between driving a Tesla and a regular car, the importance of keeping things stress-free, and mentally preparing for the surgery. I’ve also noticed how the Uber landscape shifts with the seasons, and it’s been a mix of regular rides and some surprising ones.
Towards the end of the vlog, I shared my thoughts on the surgery and the temporary break it’ll bring. I’m planning to stay at my mom’s place to recuperate, and it’ll be a time for reflection and possibly picking up some real estate studies again. Thanks for joining me on this journey, and wish me luck for the upcoming weeks. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe!

In today's vlog, I dive headfirst into the unpredictable world of Uber driving during Memorial Day weekend in Miami. I kick off the day with a nostalgic nod to 2017-style intros, only to quickly realize that today's content needs to be spontaneous. The day starts with a comfort ride from Miami airport to Delray Beach, steering clear of the infamous Memorial Day traffic jams on the bridges.
As the day unfolds, I recount my experiences from the previous night, highlighting the $200 I made without a single premier ride. The traffic, police blockades, and chaotic energy of South Beach push me towards more airport runs. A trip to the car wash offers a brief respite, and I muse about how my channel has made "L Car Wash" a household name even in Canada.
Throughout the day, I share candid thoughts on Uber's latest updates, like the removal of the coffee cup feature, and how it's affecting my strategy. I even find myself in a bizarre encounter, racing an F1 car on the MacArthur Causeway. The day winds down with some light-hearted moments, including amusing conversations with passengers and observations about the eclectic clientele at Miami's high-end shopping districts.

Hey everyone! Today is Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024, and it's looking like a typical slow rideshare day in Miami. I start a bit late at 12:45 PM, aiming to make the best of it by sticking to short X rides around Miami Beach before heading to the airport for a potentially higher-paying rematch. The goal is to hit $200, despite it being one of the slowest days of the week in a notably slow season.
After a quick car wash on 8th Street, I reminisce about the buzzing University of Miami area, now quieter with students gone. With full batteries and a strategy in mind, I head to the beach, noting the significant drop in rides and increased battery depletion in the heat. Despite the slow season, I manage to keep busy with short rides and maximize earnings by avoiding long trips and heavy traffic, all while sharing my thoughts on Uber's fare inconsistencies.
Throughout the day, I juggle various rides, decline low-paying trips, and discuss the joys and frustrations of ridesharing in Miami. From airport runs to navigating the bustling streets of South Beach, I share insights on optimizing earnings and the quirky experiences of driving a Tesla for Uber. As evening approaches, the vibe changes, and I continue to hustle, reflecting on the day and gearing up for the next.
Finally, I wrap up the day with a reflection on the evolving rideshare landscape, upcoming maintenance for my car, and plans for future vlogs. If you enjoyed the ride, don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe! Stay tuned for more adventures and maybe a live session on Friday. Until next time, keep riding and hustling!

Saturday Symphony: Uber Adventures in a Miami Heatwave
Today started with an unexpected early wake-up call at 8:30 AM. I felt like I time-traveled, waking up feeling unusually well-rested despite only getting six hours of sleep. After my morning routine, I hit the road early, deciding to tackle the day's challenges head-on. The week has been a mixed bag, with lots of early starts and navigating Miami Beach's ride requests, ranging from low-paying X rides to occasional comfort and premier hits.
The day included a trip to the car wash, where I contemplated my upcoming hip surgery on June 5th. The realization of my upcoming birthday tomorrow added a layer of urgency to maximize my earnings today. The beach area, bustling with tourists, provided a steady flow of low-paying rides, but the heatwave made it challenging to keep the car cool. My strategy involved staying in the beach area until around 7:30 PM, taking breaks to cool down, and then targeting the airport for higher-paying rides.
The afternoon saw me grappling with the frustration of short, low-paying rides and dealing with the heat's impact on the Tesla's battery and AC efficiency. Despite these challenges, I managed to stay on track, hitting my daily earnings goal by the evening. The evening hustle involved navigating through Miami's busy streets, dropping off passengers at popular spots like Wynwood and Coconut Grove, and dealing with the unpredictability of ride requests.
As the sun set, I reached my earnings goal for the day and decided to head home to rest and recharge. Tomorrow's birthday and upcoming surgery weigh on my mind, but for now, I'm focused on ending the day on a positive note. The day was a reminder of the grind and hustle required in the rideshare game, but also the satisfaction of meeting daily goals despite the odds.

What a weekend! It’s the final day of the Miami Grand Prix, and I'm starting my shift at 4 p.m., a little later than usual due to feeling under the weather. Despite the congestion and runny nose, I'm powering through with tissues at the ready. I drop by my parents’ place before diving into a night filled with Formula One fans, TikTok trends, and premium rides all over Miami. Between surges, I reflect on the high cost of food at the F1 VIP sections and the disparity in Uber fares.
Navigating traffic is a challenge with the MacArthur entrance closed, but the hustle doesn’t stop. From VIP pickups at Jungle Island to the final surge across Miami Beach, I’m on the grind, dodging cancellations and squeezing out as many premier rides as possible. Along the way, I savor nostalgic fast food at Miami Subs and joke with passengers about British accents.
Closing out this F1 weekend, I tally up the total for the night. It's not as good as last year’s Grand Prix, but I broke two hundo! Join me for this jam-packed day of Miami nightlife, VIP pickups, and ride-sharing insights as we embrace the Uber grind during one of Miami's most hectic weekends.

Day 2 of Miami's streets during the F1 Grand Prix weekend. I started my day aiming for premium hourly rides, chasing surges around Miami Beach and Brickell. Despite a few setbacks, like missed opportunities and unexpected cancellations, the excitement of navigating through Miami's traffic and meeting diverse passengers kept me going.
I shared some strategies and reflections on handling surge pricing and passenger interactions. I also faced a few hiccups, like dealing with a last-minute cancellation which could have been a nice payday. Throughout the day, I tried to optimize my routes and discussed the unpredictability of ride-sharing, especially during big events where timing and location are crucial for catching the best fares.
As the day turned into night, I continued to push through, exploring different areas and adapting to the dynamic nature of the job. The vlog captures not just the practical aspects of driving for Uber during a major event but also the human experiences that make each ride unique. Starting off a bit frazzled without having my Tesla pre-cooled was a minor hiccup, but we rolled into the Grand Prix energy right away. Reflecting a bit, I noticed I've been feeling a bit different from last year—maybe a bit less spirited, which had me thinking about the changes a year can bring.
The rides today were pretty standout! I managed some solid Premier rides despite the event not feeling as large as last year. It's curious how the vibe shifts year by year. Plus, dealing with the usual Miami traffic, which adds its own flavor of chaos to any event day.
Cruising through the city, from picking up Premier customers under the shaded areas of South Miami to navigating through downtown traffic, it's been a grind. I got to chat about the usual—how the airport’s been slow lately and my strategies for making the most out of these big event weekends. And, you know me, always up for a laugh or a quirky story from the road.
I'm excited to keep this momentum going for the rest of the weekend. Expect more tales from the road, some thoughts on life and just navigating this crazy gig. As always, I'm keeping it real—sharing the good, the bad, and everything in between.
Here are some key moments from today's vlog:

Hey everyone, it's Mario Mateo here, diving into another day as an Uber driver in the bustling streets of Miami. Today, I'm sharing the ups and downs of a typical Saturday, aiming for that elusive $300 mark while navigating the city's vibrant locales from Miami Beach to Brickell. I kicked off the day contemplating the calm of my car wash routine before jumping into the hectic pace of airport runs and dodging low-paying fares.
Amidst the regular rides, I found myself at Factory Town during the 420 celebrations, reflecting on last week's vlog about the challenges of maintaining a clean, smoke-free car. As I maneuvered through the city, I shared some candid thoughts on how Miami is changing, noting the blend of old charms and new developments, like the trendy spots in Wynwood and the high-end rush of the Design District.
One highlight was a nostalgic trip down memory lane as I recounted the legendary chicken wings at Mike's at Venetian, a spot that holds fond memories of my earlier days around the Miami Herald building. This day wasn't just about rides; it was a full-on narrative of life behind the wheel, dealing with tricky customers, city traffic, and the personal reflections that keep me grounded amidst the chaos.
Join me as I navigate the complexities of Uber driving, city life, and the pursuit of a good day's earnings in the magic city of Miami. Whether it's dodging traffic or reminiscing about the best wings in town, each moment behind the wheel is a story worth sharing.

Breaking Up with Spring Break: What Not to Do
Today's vlog captures a day in my life during the spring break season in Miami and the surrounding areas as an Uber ride-share driver. Starting my day later than planned due to some morning sluggishness, I set out with the goal of navigating through the spring break crowds, aiming for premium rides while avoiding the chaos typical of this time in Miami. The day was filled with strategic decisions about where to drive, managing ride categories, and dealing with the unpredictability of passenger behavior and city traffic controls.
Despite the challenges, including weather changes and navigating through busy areas, I focused on maximizing earnings by targeting premier rides and strategically selecting areas to work in, such as Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton, to avoid the most hectic parts of Miami Beach. The vlog also touches on personal reflections about the ride-share business, the impact of spring break on driving strategies, and interactions with passengers ranging from pleasant exchanges to the challenges of dealing with intoxicated or unruly individuals.
Throughout the day, I dealt with the frustration of missed opportunities and the reality of working in a service industry during a busy season, balancing the pursuit of high-earning rides with the need to maintain personal standards and safety. Despite the setbacks, the vlog ends on a note of perseverance, with plans to continue working into the night and optimism for the days ahead, underscored by the personal booking for rides outside the Uber platform.

Hey, it's Mario Mateo here, and wow, what a rollercoaster of a week it's been! Let's dive straight into the chaos that unfolded, without any fluff because, let's face it, you all know there's never a dull moment with me.
Initially, I wasn't planning to vlog, but life had other plans. My Tesla started acting up right when I least expected it, kicking off a series of events that felt straight out of a sitcom. First off, my heater decided to quit on me, which, in the grand scheme of things, seemed minor until the AC followed suit. Imagine driving in Miami's heat without AC! Then, to add insult to injury, I faced a payment hiccup at Hertz due to their new policy on Apple Cards, which threw a wrench into my plans.
But wait, there's more. As I navigated these hurdles, I also took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on my journey, my family's support, and the ups and downs of life. Amidst all this, I juggled my Uber rides, a real estate exam study session, and even contemplated the existential crises of being a gig worker in today's world.
Now, for the cherry on top: car troubles galore. From dealing with a car that wouldn't charge to swapping it out, not once but twice, at Hertz, it felt like I was in an endless loop of "Houston, we have a problem." But hey, that's the life of a vlogger, right? Always something to keep you on your toes.
