The Air Zoo in Kalamazoo has nearly finished restoring a FM-2 Wildcat fighter
The Air Zoo president and CEO says his first thought when he saw the plane in Wisconsin was it would never look like an airplane again, but his restorers promised him they could do the work on it. The plane was pulled from the lake on December 7, 2012. It was cut in half by the rudder of the aircraft carrier where it was trying to land and fell off the back of the ship, and the pilot was able to escape before it sank to the bottom of the lake.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer says the state is putting ten-million-dollars toward an initiative

The Michigan Supreme Court has paused the effort by One Fair Wage by not hearing the lawsuit filed by the group. Restaurant owners say they are happy with the decision but the Supreme Court is yet to rule on the "Adopt and Amend" tactic used by lawmakers in 2018 with One Fair Wage's petition. They might rule it was unconstitutional.

Constance Roberts was bound over for trial yesterday. She is alleged to have been in a long-term relationship with a married man 20-years older than her and she is accused of draining his checking and savings accounts. Those accounts had a combined balance of around three-million-dollars.

Ford Motor Company is recalling over 100-thousand Lincoln Aviator SUV's
Owners began complaining of a distorted view and tests showed the problem may be caused by cell phone usage. Ford reportedly received 478 reports of rearview camera issues between August of 2019 and last month. The recall affects models built between 2020 and 2024 and Ford says they have not been told of any accidents or injuries due to the problem. Owners will be receiving notices about the recall beginning July 2nd and are advised not to use their cellphone while the vehicle is in reverse.

Canary Tree Service and owner Justin Hartmann are accused by Nessel of recruiting a Mississippi,; Kentucky and Michigan based company for work. The companies are accused of misleading people about the nature of the agreements they signed, the cost of it, potential financial responsibility for costs not covered by insurance, and their legal rights and obligations. They allegedly did the work in Oakland and Washtenaw counties in 2021 and in Gaylord in 2022.

A contractor from just outside of Detroit is being ordered to pay the city of Detroit
Den-Man Contractors was hired by the city to fill holes with uncontaminated dirt, but the company used dirty dirt from reconstruction projects on Interstates 96 and 94 along with commercial properties. Tests showed there was arsenic, mercury, and other toxins in the dirt. Owner David Holman and contracting manager David MacDonald were both given probation after being charged with felonies.

Jim Leyland will be the 10th individual in franchise history to have his number retired
The ceremony to retire Leyland's No. 10 will take place at Comerica Park on August 3. Additionally, Leyland will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in July. He is the second ex-Tigers manager to receive this honor, following Sparky Anderson, whose No. 11 was retired in 2011. Leyland spent the final eight years of his 22-year managerial career with the Detroit Tigers.

Several West Michigan school districts are getting electric school buses.
This comes after 24-million-dollars in funding which is coming to Michigan thanks to the Biden administration and the EPA's clean school bus program. In West Michigan, districts in Grand Rapids, Kentwood, Three Rivers, and Kalamazoo are getting electric buses. The Grand Rapids Public Schools District will be receiving the most funding, which will provide around 15 buses by the next school year.

Shooting in Saginaw Leaves Three Hospitalized
According to ABC12, the shooting left a 29-year-old Saginaw woman and 44-year-old Saginaw man in critical condition. The Kinship Advisory Council seeks to create a plan to better engage support groups and provide services for kinship caregivers, as well as broaden public awareness about these services. The new state-of-the-art Family Justice Center in Ottawa County is now open.
The 20th District Judicial Circuit Court family division will hear cases there. The justice center will also be home to judges, attorneys and court staff who will handle juvenile and child welfare cases as well as domestic cases. County officials say the purchase of 200 body-cams and 120 dash-cams was approved by the Board of Commissioners. The system will reportedly be operational in the coming weeks. Despite this, the county board still has to approve a contract with Axon.

Shooting in Saginaw Leaves Woman Dead
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, taking the victim with him. After colliding with a trooper's patrol vehicle and exchanging fire with the police that came to arrest him (neither side was hurt in this exchange), the man was arrested and taken to the Saginaw County Jail. The 47-year-old woman was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead on arrival. No further details are available as of this recording, as the suspect has not yet been arraigned.
