But according to the Scriptures (which it’s published next to), it is full of pride, sin, and idolatry. It gives glory to man and the flag, rather than to God. While skipping through many other issues. The First Amendment sinfully places all religions and their false Gods equal to Christianity and the God of the Bible. It’s the First Amendment that gives homosexuals the “right” to blaspheme the Lord by hijacking His rainbow. While skipping through many other issues. The Declaration of Independence is where feminists get their equality mantra. Though the original document stated, “All men are created equal.” Liberals and feminists have translated that to mean “all men and women are created equal.” The problem is the “men and women” interpretation is contra Scriptura. As I’ve said before. Though men are not better than women, and yes, we are created equal in God’s image; we are unequally different. Including but not limited to, women being different in anthropology, biology, genetics, neurobiology, sexually, and sociologically. But more importantly, we are different Theologically. To say otherwise is to go against God’s Divine order of creation. Ironically, Trump is a proponent of homosexuality and feminism. Nonetheless, it is theological malpractice to receive our instruction from a secular document, as our ways of practice in ecclesiology, sexuality, or theology; rather than from the Scriptures (Rom 15:4, 2 Tim 3:16). The disgraced Alistair Begg wrongfully pulls the “Pharisee” card if you speak against his unbiblical position on attending “gay weddings” or against immorality. With the understandable controversy over Alister Begg preaching at the 2024 Shepherds Conference (more about that here), I decided to look at their speaker lineup. For many years, El Salvador led the world by holding one of the highest crime & murder rates. But when Nayib Bukele became their President, he changed that. The good news surrounding this story is El Salvador’s murder rate has dropped by over 90%, as well as other crimes. But we have no right to tell other countries how they should treat their prisoners. Most recently alleged conservatives like Mike Pence and Senator Ted Cruz sinfully opposed Uganda for criminalizing homosexuality. One of the greatest ills of America, including its Americanized Christendom, is they have too high a view of man, and not high enough a view of Almighty God, and His Scriptures. Today’s America is what God warned about in Romans 1 and Matthew 24. After my law enforcement career, I worked as a National Board Certified Criminal Defense Investigator. Though I intended to be an impartial advocate of the truth, to make sure clients were provided with their constitutional rights, due process, and a fair trial. But I was later convicted that some of my work was sinfully contra Scriptura. Though we all benefit from the Bill of Rights, and some benefit from the 1964 Civil Rights Act, much of those so-called “human rights” go against the Scriptures. And when America’s law or founding documents go against the Scriptures, we must obey God’s Law rather than man’s. And so, I repented resigning my services. On January 8, 2023, at approx. 1830 hours, Reno Police officers received a radio call of a suspicious circs on Sky Valley Dr. Upon arrival, the call escalated from a possible battery investigation to a shooting. Officers then attempted to detain the suspects, but a shooting ensued. Two suspects were shot by police, but unfortunately, one sergeant was shot multiple times. Especially for larger cities like Los Angeles, this type of violence is common. However, what made this call so different, is armed citizens rose to the occasion to assist the officers. In this shooting, we have three people groups. Bad guys with guns (criminals). Good guys and girls with guns (citizens). Police officers with guns. The gun laws of this state did not protect these police officers or citizens. The first people group was already prohibited from being in possession of a firearm. This is yet more evidence that more gun restrictions or anti-gun laws are not needed. In fact, they are more harmful than helpful. In this case, the police were the first responders. But in most cases, the citizens are the true first responders. Less than one year ago we moved from the anti-gun communist state of California. I am thankful to now live in a state that is a carry concealed state, where an unconstitutional CCW permit is not required. Decades ago, while speaking in uniform at a church, I told the congregation “Criminals, they don’t play by the rules. But police officers are shackled by laws and treated like fools!” Today, as a citizen, we could replace the words “police officers” with citizens. Nonetheless, regardless of what state you live in, or what anti-gun laws you might be subjected to. Resist that unconstitutional tyranny, demonstrate the Christian reformed doctrine of Lessor Magistrate. Train hard, learn and practice firearm proficiency, safety, discipline, target acquisition, and shot placement; and carry concealed. The second people group (the good guys) should always be ready to be Sheep Dogs. And if you see a police officer (or any victim) in need, rise to the occasion. Though it was not required. You will even hear one officer inquire if the good citizens were armed. That inquiry was consistent with the language of invoking posse comitatus. Posse comitatus and semper reformanda! This brief video has an important message for the church. And no, I am not saying that sports are always a sin. However, sports are a sin if sports become an idol in our lives. If there is anything in our lives that we have more time for, passion for, or knowledge of than God (and His Word); then it is a false god (or idol). Jesus said that the ‘idolaters’ will be cast into the lake of fire. Everyone from time to time has idols in their lives, but we must repent, not repeat. The Bible says that we are to redeem our time wisely. Did you know that within the time frame of one 2-hour ballgame, 13,000 humans die (not including suicides or abortion), and 28 Christians are martyred? Sure the 28 born-again Christians are now with the Lord, but how many of those 13,000 did not yet hear the Gospel? Imagine how better this fallen world would be if every professing Christian transferred the time spent watching ball games into sharing the Gospel in the public realm.
