It was a little scary to send these away to get digitized (especially after some of the reviews I read & videos I watched), but after my exhausting search to find a reel to reel player online for silent films, I caved to the fact that sending them to a professional would be the best option for me. They had been sitting in a climate controlled environment, so that was good. Problem is, they probably haven't been played in decades and I felt they were already going to be fragile, so sending them through an old reel player would have been risky and didn't want to risk damaging the original product. The turn-around time was pretty awesome -- 2-3 weeks I believe, the website said 4-6 weeks but I'm assuming that's at busy peak times like Christmas. All in all my experience was good. To skip the intro: 1:09 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* 📝 Last semester I wrote a paper for my ENGL 1302 class about my #Nana and her battle with #Alzheimers. I knew a little bit about it while she was dealing with the disease but since I was only 14-years-old when she passed away I didn't know what could have possibly caused it. I threw myself into this paper and almost didn't think of anything else for weeks and weeks. #TeepaSnow and her videos helped me understand the disease and was a great resource for this project I'm sharing with the world. 📌 My Nana was my Nana. She was fierce. She was smart. She was brave. But even with all of her amazing qualities, #Alzheimer's #Disease still found a way to steal her from us like chiseling at stone, taking her piece by piece until she was a shell of the person she once was.
