Theater & Stream: A Film Podcast #032 - The Thanksgiving Leftovers Watchlist
As we round the bend into the Holiday season, there's certainly a lot to watch - but nothing struck us as something to dedicate an entire episode to. Instead, we've compiled everything we've been watching into something we're calling "The Thanksgiving Leftovers Watchlist!" We've also thrown in a bit of movie news and some "Mentionables" for good measure. So, as you recover from your Turkey-Day food coma, we invite you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show...
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: We're currently on the road to 50 subs and to celebrate the occasion, we're inviting our 50th subscriber to do a "SHOW TAKEOVER!"
What does this mean? If you're our 50th subscriber, we'll contact you and you may choose our "Featured Review" for a future episode. For more info: select the corresponding timestamp below.
"Theater & Stream" is an independent endeavor. We make no money from the show, we pay for what we watch, and we don't run advertising. While this milestone may seem "small potatoes," we are proud of what we've built here and hope you find us compelling enough to subscribe. Thank you.

Theater & Stream: A Film Podcast #031 - The Killer
Put away the Halloween candy and spooky movies, it's November! We've officially hit the "busy season" of film releases. Award contenders, biopics, and those movies you see on Thanksgiving with your family because there's nothing else! But that also means some directing heavy-hitters are on deck. What that means this week is a featured review of David Fincher's "The Killer." We'll also discuss the biggest film news of the last two weeks, talk about other things we've been watching, and wrap the show up with "The Mentionables." Please do subscribe if you like what you see!

We're getting into the Halloween spirit - doubly so this week! Our featured review looks at the latest Shudder original from horror journeyman Brandon Christensen...it's "The Puppetman!" In "News," Best Buy moves the doomsday clock one step closer to midnight for physical media and Ridley Scott/Baz Luhrmann can't stop re-editing their films! Finally, we'll close-out the show with "The Mentionables."

Theater & Stream: A Film Podcast #027 - Wes Anderson's Roald Dahl Netflix Shorts
Despite releasing a feature-length film earlier this year, Wes Anderson has dropped four new short films with little notice on Netflix. This would normally be cause for celebration, but both Matt and Chuck can't help but feel like Anderson's best days are behind him, as he retreats further into his signature style. Still, Chuck was able to mine some satisfying Roald Dahl nostalgia out of the shorts. It's also been a massive week for film news, so we prioritized that, and let the Watchlist get a bit small. BUT next week..."The Watchlist" comes back with a vengeance! Have you seen all the films and TV coming out? It's gonna be CRAZY.

Theater & Stream: A Film Podcast #023 - Cobweb & The Passenger
It's our first double-feature in awhile, and we're kicking off the Fall movie season...right...now! First up, it's "Cobweb." This strange little horror film was done-dirty by its theatrical release date and dumped unceremoniously on VoD. If you've got that little voice in your head that's saying "only two months until Halloween," then this is the film for you! Next up, it's the self-help odyssey from Hell, "The Passenger." A film that would have been right at home playing as a midnight movie at a drive-in theater. And as always, we sandwich the reviews between the film news of the week and our non-movie recommendations, in "The Mentionable."

Theater & Stream: A Film Podcast #022 - Tarsem Retrospective - Immortals
We're rounding out our Tarsem Retrospective in the place where "art" collides with "commerce." It's Tarsem's first studio film, and an action-blockbuster at that. It also happens to be the most successful and watched movie in his filmography. We'll discuss "Immortals," what direction Tarsem's career took after the film, and what he's doing these days. Otherwise, we've nixed the "News" this week on account of the slow, dog days of summer. But we''re still talking about the topical things we've been watching, in "The Watchlist." Subscribe if you like what you see and hear, we'd appreciate it!

Otherwise, Chuck's got some impressions from the reboot of "Justifed" and "They Cloned Tyrone," while Matt talks about three shows after resubbing to AppleTV+. Theater & Stream: A Film Podcast #016 - Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One
Praise Xenu! Box-office king Tom Cruise has returned to "save the movies." Via the Cruise/McQuarrie team, the M:I franchise has grown into one of the best action blockbuster offerings Hollywood can muster. Does the trend continue? We also discuss two huge news stories - the Emmy noms and what the SAG strike means for you, as a movie watcher. In a short, but meaty "Watchlist," Chuck has seen the "controversial film du jour," "The Sound of Freedom" and Matt watched the latest thing Soderbergh crapped out in his retirement. Theater & Stream: A Film Podcast Episode #013 - I'm a Virgo
This week: we're surveying the damage from David Zaslav's latest kaiju-like rampage through pop culture, trying to answer why there are 2 different versions of "Across the Spider-Verse", and attempt to diagnose the ills experienced by Pixar as of late. The Watchlist includes Matt's wholehearted endorsement for MGM+'s "From", Chuck's takedown of Season 6 of "Black Mirror", Matt was able to check out Wes Anderson's "Asteroid City", and Chuck explains why you should be watching old school Jim Cameron movies like "True Lies."
