Hails Barbarians! In Celebration of Howard Days, me, ZeroSum716, The Brothers Krynn and Grimdark Half Off decided to make videos honoring Robert E. Howard. I created this video talking about the most mythological Conan tale which is "The Frost Giant's Daughter". Reading this story the mythological aspects are very evident and all the names that Howard used in this story seem to all be drawn from mythology or a historical context which is very interesting, which i go through here. Obviously to keep the video abit shorter i only focused on the mythology aspect of this story. It would have been way way longer if i had gone through everything so for the sake of time to get this done for Howard Days i just focused on this one thing. Hails Barbarians! Today we talk about the final word on the issue of Don Rosa and his masterpiece of a work The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. Don Rosa made an update some days ago on this issue and his last words on it. So we go through that and lament the demise of this fantastic work for the forseeable future at least in print. Big respect to Don Rosa for standing his ground and not let his work be redrawn in any way. Hopefully someday a sane person takes over Disney and rectifies this issue but that could be a looooong time, if ever. Anyway what is your thoughts my dear reader? Hail Barbarians! Today we talk about Jason Momoa's interview which he did with GQ (there was just a small part about Conan, why i don't show the GQ article itself) where Momoa slams his Conan movie and says it was betrayed. Now is this just something you say when your movie flops hard? since in the press before the movie and during he said it was even better than the 1982 movie?! I mean obviously one hypes up ones own movie but he said it was not gonna flop that it was a great movie. But in my opinion this Conan movie was already "betrayed" from the get go, the issues ran very deep. From the horrible director, the screenwriters, the plot, the dialogue, the music, the acting... it was all just very bad or mediocre at best. And im glad this visionless version of Conan didn't get take off and give us more of the same bland movies. Hails to the Barbarian Horde! Guys absolutely exciting news! Legendary comic book and novel writer Chuck Dixon of Batman fame is launching a whole book series of Conan! This very exciting! As someone who is as celebrated as Chuck and also as someone who has already written Conan for Marvel in the original black and white "The Savage Sword of Conan" comics im pumped about this. There are two chapters to read already and it is good! Chuck has specifically said he wanted to write in the "bravura" style of Robert E. Howard, and i'm all for it. I'm so down with someone good trying to write with the evocative style of Howard and really capture the atmosphere and essence of Howard's Conan. Bring to me all the novels! Hails all! This one was a long one phew, because it hit close to home. As a long time fan since childhood of donald duck comics this censorship is just disgusting. As someone who owns the soundtrack to this Eisner Award Winning Great work by Don Rosa and the book "the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" this is just maddening and very dissapointing and unfourtanetly on par with this trashfire of a company. Disney is a embarrasment and shell of its former self, how the mighty have fallen! Absolutely disgusting this really peeved me. And that is why this video is 43 min long, i didn't even notice it got this long. I guess i needed to get this off my chest. Anyway i wholehearteadly recommend The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck! Disney's ideology be damned. Virtue signaling hypocrites, maybe go take a look at that concentration camp you thanked and filmed by!
