I've had my CRF300L in many stages of modification at this point. From a few bolt ons to a built engine and custom suspension. I got a pretty good feel on this thing. I've modded mine so much I'm calling it an XR301 now. But in doing so I might have led some people astray. You don't have to modify the CRF300L for it to be an enjoyable motorcycle. And if you do you don't have to spend $8k. You can haha just follow my build. But I want to give y'all some options to spend less or at least know what it will cost you. I need custom tuning for my CRF300l (XR301). I've done all the bolt on's like exhaust and DNA filter. I've done air box mods and emissions delete. And now I've gone into the motor and done a big bore, a CNC ported head, and race cams. No random map is gonna work for that. No shot in dark ECU flashing without the bike there is gonna get it. We need proper custom dyno tuning. Problem is trying to find someone who can do custom dyno tuning. I've had a very hard time finding a competent dyno tuner. I'm just not convinced they can do a good job. And at the end of the day they're just running a wideband O2 sensor and trying to set the air to fuel ratio. Well you know what, you can do that for self and for around the same price as custom tuning. And since you own the equipment you can do it again and again with each mod. Kinda wish we had done this from the beginning. So in this video I'll add a Dyno Jet Wide Band kit to the Power Vision 3. The CRF300L comes with a slipper gripper clutch and for some has caused a lot of issues... or has it! Lets go over how it works, why it works, and if it's up to the job. Installing the Big Bore Kit on the CRF300L or XR301 if you will. This take the engine size from 300cc to 301cc!!! JK, kinda. The stock real size is 286cc and this 2mm bore brings it up to 301cc. May not be a huge bore and kit's do exist that go bigger. But Ari Henning worked with JE pistons on this kit and this is the size you want to go if you want to maintain reliability. Larger kits will end up with lots of slap in very little time. This kit also takes the compresion from 10.7:1 to 11.5:1 which is also a balance of power and reliability. Could go higher but Ari says this is the sweet spot. But wait there's more! Because I also have a Race Tech CNC ported head with Takegawa cams too.
