Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it (That’s the people that died in the flood), and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them (people who have died since then); and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Hades, by the way, that term means the grave. Rev 20:14 And death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire; sheol is translated as Hades here, it just means the grave, death is personified here. We are told in Isaiah, there's going to be no more death, no more sorrow, that's what's going to be destroyed. Death and the grave have always been man's great enemies, Elohim is going to do away with death and the grave, they are going to be done away with. Rev 20:15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Literal lake of fire? I don't know, it's likely to be the condition of the earth as its judged, when all things are made new. Isn't that how things are refined? By fire? The books were opened, the dead were judged according to things written in the books, what books? The books that everyone's going to be judged by? Are the books of the Torah. Satan will be let out of his prison; which is that part of the world with Muslim occupation. What is in the middle of that Muslim world? Israel. Surrounded by? Calling on the name of Jesus, or whatever you call our Messiah, doesn’t mean anything if you don't live righteous. You have to live as He commands, all of His Commandments, Statutes and Ordinances. Only the heavenly Father can give you a heart of flesh, eyes to see and ears to hear. It is His choosing not ours. Rom 11:4-7 But what is the divine response to him? “I HAVE KEPT for Myself SEVEN THOUSAND MEN WHO HAVE NOT BOWED THE KNEE TO BAAL.” 5In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice. 6But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace. 7What then? That which Israel is seeking for, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened; Paul tells us how we were grafted into the Olive Tree of Israel, those who are of the natural blood of Israel who do not believe in Messiah, have been cast off. He reminds us not to boast about this, but to be humble about it. We could very well be broken off and they could be grafted back in in our place. With that in mind, he tells us our duty. Rom 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. It should read: For Christ is the "goal" or "destination" of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. End - (G5056) telos (to set out for a definite point or goal) Paul is expressing his desire for Israel of the flesh to embrace Yeshua as Messiah and have salvation. The laws (Torah) existed long before Mt. Sinai. How could Abraham know to do what Gen 26:5 says: Gen 26:5 Because Abraham obeyed Me and kept My charge, My commandments, My Statutes and My Laws." Imagine a certain man who loves a certain woman more than anything else in this world. He loves her so much that he marries her and dedicates his life to her happiness and well-being. But while this woman initially responds to his affections, she later turns away from him to become a prostitute. She would rather have adulterous sex with hundreds of men than have the love and security of this man that truly loves her. He keeps taking her from the streets of prostitution and even buys her from slavery in order to take her back as his wife. But she keeps sneaking back into the sick world of being a whore. The story of that certain man is the life of Hosea. Elohim used Hosea as that certain man to illustrate how Israel was unfaithful to Him. Hosea and Jeremiah were very similar in many respects. They both spoke the heart of God. Jeremiah spoke from heartbreaking experiences of the nation. Hosea spoke from the heartbreaking experiences of his home. Hosea's wife was unfaithful to him and became a whore. He loved her so much that he took her back again. She left him to become a whore again. Speaking from this heartbreaking experience, this man walked out in front of the nation of Israel, with tears streaming down his face saying, "I want you to know how God feels about you, because I feel the same way." Gen 17 Gen 17:1 Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless. It has been 13 years since Elohim last met with Abraham and appeared to him. The name of Elohim is used here only once in this chapter. Genesis 15:6 Then he believed in the LORD; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness. He's already reckoned as righteous so why does he have to be blameless, walk blameless? Its a continuation, that is what being righteous is, being blameless. Abram is demonstrating his faithfulness by walking blameless before Elohim. Israel was told to do the same thing by the way. Just keep His Torah, I don't know how Christianity reads that passage right there, but it's pretty plain isn't it. Repent, it means turn around and get on the path to Torah and stay there, be blameless and stay that way, follow His Torah, you have to learn His Torah before you can follow it. That's why we study it. Belief requires action, it's not optional, it's not just a “good feeling”, it's not a good feeling at all. The Covenant is the promise of Abraham to walk blameless before Elohim and then He'll be Elohim to Abraham. We found out later that Abraham did walk blameless before Elohim in Genesis 26:4-5 (Elohim is speaking to Isaac) “And I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven, and will give your descendants all these lands; and by your descendants all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; 5because Abraham obeyed Me and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes and My laws.” Ezekiel 36:25-27 “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, (what does running water represent in scripture, living water? The Breath, the Spirit of the Father.) and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26“Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27“And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. Psalm 51:7-10 Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8Make me to hear joy and gladness, Let the bones which You have broken rejoice. 9Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities. 10Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. You know, that sounds a little strong; the term is practices sin, if you have the seed within you, it’s the spirit of the Father. That seed is growing, and it won't blossom until the resurrection. No one who was born of Him practices sin. When you get the spirit of the Father within you, can you just sin, sin in particular, what would you do? Celebrate Christmas, how would you feel about doing that, celebrating Christmas, isn’t going to happen is it? You're just fuddy-duddy aren't you, Scrooge, yeah, call me all you want I don't care what you call me, I’m not celebrate Christmas. The term Born again, is actually a bad translation, it's supposed to be, born from above and that makes complete sense. When you're born from above, when the seed of the Father is within your heart and you have His breath within you, you don't go and practice those things that offend Him. That doesn't mean, boom, you're perfect, no, we have a lot of learning to do we have a lot of practicing to do. Being obedient is not that difficult. That explains why believers in that day and in the last days are known by their faithfulness to Yeshua and in the keeping of the commandments of Elohim. Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman (who is Israel) and went off to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Revelation 14:12 Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. It also explains discrepancies here in Revelation 22:14 or very 14 different translations use different ancient documents and they're slightly different okay, it’s translated in ancient documents both ways actually. Revelation 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. The King James Version says Blessed are they that do His commandments that they may have right to the tree of life may enter in through the gates of the city. What's the difference between obeying His Commandments and being cleansed? There is no difference, if you're cleansed, if you have the spirit of the Father in you, you're going to be obedient to His commandments so it's synonymous totally synonymous, that's the sign and the result of the New Covenant those two things right there, being washed it's a sign, the result is obeying His Commandments. Romans 9 This section of Romans doesn't deal as much with the beautiful, lofty, and comforting doctrine of obedience to Torah that was dealt with in the previous chapters. In chapter 8, Paul was telling us absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of Messiah Yeshua. Now, it seems, that Paul is going to fall into a deep depression. I think he does, to an extent. Paul is now going to discuss the sadness he has over the fact that most "Israelites according to the flesh" (his words) rejected the New Covenant that was offered to them through Yeshua Messiah. Church teachings have fallen into non-Scriptural and false assumptions concerning Israel. Virtually all churches teach that Israel = Jews. This is an erroneous belief. Israel is Elohim's people as we have discussed on many occasions. We are a part of Israel only through the faithfulness of the Father and Paul makes that abundantly clear in Romans as well as in his other writings (Gal. 3:27-28, Eph. 2:12-13, 19, 3:6). Romans 8 This chapter brings us to the conclusion of the discussion on sanctification. This is considered by most Christian Bible scholars to be one of the high-water marks in Scripture. But Paul has made it abundantly clear up to this point that obedience to Torah is of the utmost importance to the believer in Messiah.
