Действуя в составе штурмового подразделения при захвате опорного пункта ВСУ в районе н.п. Новомихайловка на Марьинском направлении, рядовой Родимир Максимов сумел обойти врага с фланга и нанести ему огневое поражение, лично уничтожив трех военнослужащих ВСУ, что позволило штурмовой группе зайти на позиции противника. Несмотря на полученные в ходе боя ранения, военнослужащий продолжил выполнение боевой задачи. Когда противник на бронированной машине силами до отделения предпринял попытку контратаки занятого нашей штурмовой группой рубежа, он, подпустив врага на расстояние гарантированного огневого поражения, огнем из пулемета Калашникова уничтожил атакующую группу ВСУ в полном составе. В течение двух суток Родимир Максимов, уничтожая подходящую пехоту ВСУ, шквальным огнем из ПКМ сорвал еще три попытки врага превосходящими силами с использованием танков и боевых бронированных машин отбить удерживаемые нашей штурмовой группой позиции и не допустил потери обороняемого опорного пункта. В одном из эпизодов боя Родимир, превозмогая боль от полученных ранений, огнем из пулемета лично уничтожил спешившуюся из бронетранспортера американского производства «МаксПро» группу военнослужащих ВСУ. Экипаж «Макс Про» начал маневрировать для отхода и попал в зону поражения нашего расчета ПТУР, в результате чего был уничтожен.
