Alligator crossing the road in Florida
Info from licensor :
This morning…
Hung out with this guy for about 30 minutes till he decided to cross to the other side. What a rush!
I hope you find something that brings you joy and makes you feel alive. For me, this is the easiest way to keep me grounded and grateful for the blessing that is to wake up everyday. Today’s sunrise hit hard as I was overwhelmed with emotions over its pure beauty and for knowing how fortunate I was to be able to witness it, something that I wish I could share with many of my loved close ones that have passed, something I wish we could share in person. I miss them, all the time, especially outside, where every moment is unpredictable and anything can happen in an instant.
Today there was a lot of Spring action, babies, territorial dispute, fighting over mates…which I will share later on. This guy just happened to be the cherry on top of today’s hike.

PSA: Do not try to pet a wild ANYTHING
I always thought this was common sense, but this kinda stuff still happens.
When are we going to collectively learn that the average human reaction time is just not worth testing against the attack speed of any wild animal - especially one that can easily break your finger (or worse) before you know what even happened.
Barring any extreme outliers, we lose the speed battle 999 times out of 1000 attempts.
Unfortunately, I get videos like this regularly.
PS: keep those coming btw. If you're going to be an idiot, at least let me use your idiocy to educate others.

Deer attack coyote to save her child
Return Fire
📽 by @szompa66
This one starts after the coyote had already zeroed in on an unsuspecting deer fawn and made its move, but the scene quickly takes a different turn, as the fawn's mother catches up and intercepts, refusing to let nature take its anticipated course.
In the wild, deer mothers occasionally face the harsh choice of abandoning their young, favoring their own survival to ensure the continuity of their lineage in future seasons. However, the deer mom in frame today defies this strategy, embodying a fierce protectiveness that leaves no room for predators.
This intense snapshot of a deer going head-to-head with a coyote is a potent reminder of the unexpected narratives that play out in the wild. Today's story isn't simply a tale of survival, but a choice laid bare - to stand one's ground, fight against the odds, or take the detached, less courageous path.
This deer chose option A, and she dealt out an ass whooping on behalf of her fawn.

A Moosse Attack Dogs
Pop quiz, hot shot!
What are you doing in this situation to de-escalate?
Here’s some additional info, provided by the submitter:
“I was a dog mushing tour guide up in Alaska. On a tour our team was charged by a moose. Thankfully, not a single dog got injured. My swing dog got its rear leg tangled in the main line. So I had to run up and wrap my arm in the line to pull back the front two lead dogs. Just so I could unwrap her back leg before it got broken. The video cuts before the moose bluff charged me again. We were barely able to get the team turned around and out of there before things got too out of hand.”

What is it like to live life with no fear?
Ask this mantis, standing on the edge of its own existence munching one of this colony’s soldiers, unburdened by the fact that at any moment, they could all descend upon and make a meal of her.
When death could arrive at any moment, there is little choice but to ride as close to the flames as possible… and you can’t get much closer than that.

The sky and the volcano are doing an epic collab
📽 by

@natimilner
In a rare orchestration of Earth's elemental forces, an erupting Volcan de Fuego coincides with a separate, but equally astonishing, electrical storm overhead. As lava and ash define the terrestrial spectacle, flashes of lightning add an electrifying dimension to the sky.
Unfurling in real-time, this uncommon alignment serves as an awe-inducing example of Earth's unpredictable nature. Just when it seems the planet has shown all it can offer, moments like these remind us that nature's capacity to amaze is just about limitless.
To translate this into influencer: the sky and the volcano are doing an epic collab, we’ve all been waiting for this to happen, but it just never seemed to materialize. Finally, each we’re able to get their shit together, and now we can all move on to the next thing.

Scared deer
Clearly, this video starts well after the deer has entered full on panic mode, so try as I might, I will never be able to tell you what set this off. However, I can try to explain why panic mode exists in the first place.
Panic mode, or the flight response, is an ancient survival mechanism deeply ingrained in many animals, including deer. It's an automatic reaction to perceived threats, activating a series of physiological changes that prepare the body for rapid escape. This response is driven by the release of adrenaline, which increases heart rate, elevates blood pressure, and boosts energy supplies.
In the wild, this rapid response can be the difference between life and death. For a deer, quick reflexes and speed are often their best defense against predators. In modern settings, however, this instinct can clash with human-made environments, leading to potentially hazardous situations, as seen in the video.
This instinctual clash is evident in the deer's desperate attempt to flee, culminating in a miscalculated jump over the fence. Such incidents highlight the challenges animals face in urban or developed areas, where their natural responses aren't always suited to the obstacles they encounter.

Death Burp
📽 by @ozzymansvideolicensing
A dead whale (looks like a humpback, best guess) passes gas for the very last time, ejecting all of its rotting internal organs into the sea.
These violent detonations are unique to whales, as the vast majority of decomposing animals can not keep all that built-up gas inside after they've passed away. The gas released is, in fact, methane, which is internally produced via the decomposition of the whale’s internal organs and kept inside by the thickness of the muscle tissue and blubbery skin.
Add to this the fact that the outside of the whale has a tendency to decompose slower than the inside (probably due to the cold water it's sitting in), and you have a recipe for detonation. Since the build-up of gas will eventually reach capacity and find the path of least resistance for escape, the only way to prevent this is to perforate the whale’s skin before it detonates on its own.
Easier said than done in the middle of the ocean.

Stork hunting
Migration Masters: Many stork species are known for their impressive long-distance migrations. Some travel thousands of kilometers between their breeding and wintering grounds, making them some of the longest migratory birds.
2. Nesting Behavior: Storks are known for their elaborate nesting behaviors. They often build large stick nests high up in trees or on man-made structures like chimneys or power poles. These nests can be reused and expanded over several breeding seasons.
3. Symbol of Fertility: In many cultures, storks are symbols of fertility and good luck. This symbolism is especially prominent in European folklore, where storks are said to deliver babies.
4. Diverse Diet: While storks are known for eating fish, they have a diverse diet that includes frogs, snakes, insects, and small mammals. Some species have adapted to urban environments and scavenge for food in garbage dumps or landfills.
5. Social Behavior: Storks are often social birds, congregating in large flocks, especially during migration or at communal roosting sites. They may also engage in cooperative hunting or nesting behaviors.
6. Conservation Concerns: Several species of storks are facing conservation threats due to habitat loss, pollution, and hunting. Efforts to protect their habitats and conserve wetland areas are crucial for their survival.
7. Long Lifespan: Storks are relatively long-lived birds, with some species capable of living for several decades in the wild.
These fascinating birds have captured the imagination of people around the world for centuries with their graceful flight, striking appearance, and intriguing behaviors.

Hooded merganser getting all fired up for the lady’s
The hooded merganser is a strikingly beautiful duck with a distinctive fan-shaped crest on its head, which it can raise or lower. It’s known for its elaborate courtship displays and is found in North America, primarily in wooded ponds and marshes , During courtship, the male hooded merganser performs an elaborate display to attract a mate. This includes raising and lowering his striking crest, puffing out his chest, and swimming in tight circles around the female while emitting low calls. This display is meant to impress the female and establish his suitability as a mate. If successful, the female may respond by bobbing her head or engaging in reciprocal behaviors.

Practice makes perfect
Mountain goats possess several unique adaptations that enable them to thrive in their rugged mountain habitats:
1. Agility: Mountain goats are incredibly agile climbers, able to scale steep cliffs and rocky terrain with ease. Their hooves have hard outer edges that provide traction, and they have specialized pads that adapt to the contours of uneven surfaces, allowing them to maintain stability even on precarious ledges.
2. Sure-footedness: They have exceptional balance and coordination, allowing them to navigate narrow ledges and slippery slopes without fear of falling. This sure-footedness is crucial for their survival in the harsh mountain environment.
3. Thick, woolly coat: Their shaggy white coats provide insulation against the cold temperatures of their alpine habitats. The dense wool helps to trap body heat and keep them warm in freezing conditions, while also providing camouflage against the snowy backdrop.
4. Horns: Both males and females have horns, which are used for defense, establishing dominance within the herd, and during mating rituals. The males’ horns are typically larger and more pronounced, curving backwards and slightly upwards.
5. Dietary adaptations: Mountain goats are herbivores, primarily feeding on grasses, herbs, shrubs, and lichens found in their mountainous habitats. Their specialized digestive systems allow them to efficiently extract nutrients from the tough, fibrous plants that grow at high altitudes.
6. Social behavior: They are typically found in small herds, consisting of females and their offspring, led by a dominant male. During the breeding season, males compete for dominance through displays of strength and aggression.
7. Seasonal migrations: In response to changing weather conditions and food availability, mountain goats may undertake seasonal migrations, moving between different elevations in search of suitable forage.
These adaptations collectively enable mountain goats to thrive in some of the most challenging environments on Earth, where few other animals can survive.
