Frank White (rebukeandreprove) recently asserted that "If you do not understand how John 3:16 teaches limited atonement then Im afraid you are not even close to understanding what we mean by limited atonement. Not even close." He said this in response to me on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ypa_mn9upo which is Kevin's upload of the Limited Atonement video he and I did. He operates just like all cultists (including outspoken atheists) do. He has zero argument. Only assertion and accusation. I imagine that he is assuming (like Limitarians HAVE TO) that LA includes application not just intent and extent as it was designed to convey. Here are some questions for people like Frank. What is the term for Christ only saving the elect (as defined by Calvinism)? What is the term for Christ dying only for the elect (as defined by Calvinism)? I bet your answer is "Limited Atonement" for both. And that is your right. But how can you have an honest conversation with me when I separate them? How can you have a logical conversation on the two separate topics if you conflate them (as you must)?

Limited Atonement was invented by Theodore Beza (a second generation reformer) based purely on philosophical concerns that assumed theistic determinism. It is completely unbiblical. Calvinists who believe this (not all do, including Calvin himself) have to use the Negative Inference Fallacy on a few verses that they imagine support their position and ignore numerous other verses that destroy this lie. Jesus Christ died for all. His gift of eternal life is offered to ALL. Only those who receive Him are forgiven and redeemed. This is not about universalism which we agree with the Calvinists is heresy. Not all receive the atonement. But limited atonement is not about who receives it. It's about whether Christ died for all (as scripture teaches) or only some (as Limitarians teach).

The word gospel means good news. What is the good news? When God made this world it was perfect, but He gave humans a choice. They chose to rebel and bring sin into His world. And every human has this choice, and we all sin. So God sent Jesus to die in our place and pay our punishment. And He offers eternal life and forgiveness of sins as a gift, if we will just turn from our sin to trust Him. Have you trusted Him? Are you trusting Him?

I am a biblical Christian. I believe in eternal security and reject Calvinism and so-called "Free Grace".

Part Two in our examination of TULIP. What do Calvinists think "Election" is? They don't understand what the word means in scripture. They conflate it with predestination, which is another concept, and neither of them mean "election to salvation" (as we usually use the word salvation as a synonym for regeneration). And they assert their version of "election" is unconditional. Real election IS unconditional. But election for those IN CHRIST to be conformed to His image to be holy and blameless.

Calvin dogmatically asserts that God is the author of evil. This is consistent with the assertion of Calvinism that God asserts everything. Most Calvinists today ignore or reject this logical conclusion of their system and their most respected Bible scholar. We deal with the evidence that Calvin taught this, the logical necessity of this position in Calvinism, and how unbiblical and blasphemous it is.
