Well I thought I would have more to show you after the hit the other night, but over 360 clips of nothing but wind, and Marty trying to get a snack. Wonder why things are avoiding the moose?

Well it took longer then I thought, but a Coyote has finally come in to attempt to snack. Looks like he runs into some issues, but maybe will see more in the coming week as winter leads to spring and this calf moose gets ripe.

You would think that next to a dead calf moose would be the last place a bunny would want to hang out, but again here we find one. Coincidence, or suspicious?

Well that was odd, didn't think they would do that with a dead moose.

Will guys when we went out to check the cams we happened to find this poor calf moose dead. Judging by some other footage we have had, it seems that winter ticks are too blame. Anyhow we decided to move one of our cameras to cover mother nature at work. Follow us and see what happens!!

Well recently on one of our hikes to check our trail cams we came across this calf moose. Nothing really noticeably wrong with it other then well being dead. Though recently in other trail cams we have found significant moose with what looks like Winter Tick. It's sad most calfs will not survive, and at least this one adult doesn't look like it is doing to well either. Harsh life when not only you have to deal with winter around here but tiny blood suckered. Here is some data on Winter Ticks: Winter ticks feed on ungulate blood, particularly cervids. They mainly affect moose and to a lesser extent elk. They may be found on white-tailed deer, but their presence does not usually cause significant problems in this species. The impact of winter ticks on caribou in natural habitats remains little known. Winter ticks can be observed on other animal species (domestic or wild), but this parasite causes little damage to these other species. The winter tick can be found in tens of thousands on a single moose.
