It was a short walk from the church doors to the Black Cat Tavern, couple hundred yards just adjacent to hallowed ground.
Eight years old at best in my Sunday best and a flood of memory fills a thought after pushing A7 on the jukebox and standing back for the song: The Beatles – Revolution
Must of played it over and over again that particular time a half dozen times until the folks said enough was enough…
We’d ask for a soda pop and a fist full of dimes back then and it was granted to get out from under foot for nobody in the tavern was listening but, I must have been.
A colleague pointed out this morning that even The Beatles were embarrassed by all the violence of the times. John Lennon sung “You can count me out!”…
If we are to leave this place better than we found it we have to get back to a place where we can spin some love and inclusiveness.
Draw on some habits and routine or create some new ones so we can just be a better person.
Because; “Don’t you know it’s going to be alright.” #dbrn
