Police and animal welfare officers used a JCB digger to rescued a female baby elephant which had fallen 25 foot down a well.
The six-year-old abandoned calf had strayed from a forest onto agricultural land on Tuesday night before it fell into the water-filled well.
Rescue teams struggled for four hours before a JCB dug into the side of the well to allow the calf to climb to safety.
