Rockfish Limit, On A 4 Hour Trip :O?! Charter Fishing J&M Sportfishing in Monterey Bay, CA

In this video, Amber and I head up to Monterey Bay, CA to do some charter boat rockfish fishing! We went out with J&M Sportfishing, a charter which we have used many times in the past, always with pretty good results. I always talk about how amazing the fishing is in Monterey, and having the whole boat catch its limit within a 4-hour time frame is phenomenal results, if I do say so myself!
Catches for today were of various rockfish such as Blue Rockfish, Rosy Rockfish, Olive Rockfish, and Gopher Rockfish. Also as a bonus, we were able to do some whale watching because we finished our charter fishing session ahead of schedule :D. Great day for fishing, big shoutout to both Monterey Fish Co. for their excellent selection of fresh bait which caught various fish for this trip, and J&M Sportfishing for always being dependable for some good fishing c:

Shoutout to Monterey Fish Co. They are located at the end of the Fisherman's Wharf, in which they sell a variety of seafood products which include lots of fresh locally caught fish! They also have lots of variety in terms of fishing bait too, if you were planning to purchase bait instead of food. Very fresh seafood!

#firstfishfreedom is a tradition that I started a while back. The basis for this tradition is to release the first fish you catch, regardless of what it is (prized, PB, good eats, maybe even world record someday haha). I will only keep the first fish if it is gravely wounded or gut shotted (and a species I can legally keep). If I keep the first fish, then I will pass on the tradition to the second fish, and so forth. Any day of fishing is a blessing, catching a fish and beating the skunk is another blessing on top of that, so I want to return that blessing and luck back to the fish, so they may live another day, get bigger, and maybe I catch them again in the future c:

https://amzn.to/3OyWpq4 (Okuma Nomad Express, this rod is pretty beefy, I'd get this guy for charter boats. It's also a travel rod that comes with a case, might be handy if you like to travel and fish. I like to also use this while jetty fishing because it's strong c:)

https://amzn.to/37JqGBU (Daiwa BG 4500 (paired with 40 lb braided), a pretty solid saltwater reel, great choice for charter boat fishing, can handle potentially larger catches out in sea)

https://amzn.to/3vCCgGX (Fishing Bait Thread, very helpful for securing non-sturdy baits to your hook, highly recommended if you use bait such as mussels!)

https://amzn.to/3Kgo38c (I normally use braided, my default line for general purpose is 20 lb Power Pro Spectra Braided Line, Moss Green. Choose the lb you need for what you're targeting, but you can never go wrong with this brand).

https://amzn.to/3EDRdNh (GoPro Hero9 Black: The GoPro I'm currently using. Great battery life, especially when filming in 1080p. Favorite function is the stabilization option, keeps footage from getting too jumbly :D)
