As I sit with the carefree cats, pondering existential threats for the next episode of Unscripted Company it strikes me how starkly our human concerns contrast with the serene simplicity of a pet's life. It's April 18, 2024, just days before my wedding, and here I am, deep in thought about apocalyptic scenarios.

Together with my co-host Riley, we're preparing a two-part podcast exploring the top ten cataclysms that could end the planet. Our list spans the likely—biblical floods, asteroid impacts, and super volcanoes—to the more fantastical, like a "Godzilla" moment induced by nuclear misadventures.

One scenario particularly haunts me: a massive asteroid striking an ocean, unleashing tidal waves that could erase coastal cities and upheave the global economic order. Amidst these musings on disaster, my feline companion lounges, a picture of tranquility, oblivious to the complex web of human anxieties.

This dichotomy leads me to ask you, the listeners: What do you think is the most plausible end-of-world scenario? Is it a natural disaster, a folly of human arrogance, or perhaps a slow descent into societal collapse? Share your thoughts as we explore these dark yet fascinating possibilities together, even as we savor the calm and significant moments that anchor our lives.
