So the cycle begins
A child is born to meet their bitter end
Another cog bred for the system in which we are enslaved
Disillusioned by this prison
Our lives are lived in vain
While wealth bestows us power in this land of lust and greed
We keep reaching for the stars and lose sight of what we need
Success is thusly measured by one’s monetary worth
Then our lives become ironic as we live to finish first
And with these trophies in each hand of a love that’s just pretend
Our graves are dug already as we live the bitter end.
