NOTES ON THE 11-19-23 CLASS
>> After Thanksgiving we will switch to Wednesday nights. The next class will be held 11-29-2023.
>> While we were still in the usual preliminaries, there was a technology failure that resulted in 3 minutes and 33 seconds of either silence or recovery from the silence. Skip from 5:42 to 9:15 if you don’t want to waste your time. If you want to skip all of the usual preliminaries and get right to the substance, just start at 9:15.
>> In this class we finished our discussion of the Parable of the Sower in Mark. After that we took a close look at the problems with Isaiah 6:9-10, how Mark introduced a new problem when he quoted part of those verses, and how Matthew and Luke handled those two problems when they copied the Parable of the Sower from Mark.
>> At the very end of open discussion I introduced new and important material about Mark 10:41-45.

CORRECTIONS TO MY STATEMENTS AT THE 11-19-23 CLASS
>> With regards to what I said at 47:43 to 49:27 and again at 50:30, I searched both of my study Bibles by Evangelicals and found that neither one of them say what I remembered one of them as saying. I may have seen that interpretation somewhere else, but the bottom line is that my statement was wrong.
>> At 1:05:01 to 1:05:56, the two alternate versions of Mark 1:1 that I mentioned are explained by the footnote on that verse in the NRSVUE:
The beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ.[b]
Footnote [b]: Other ancient authorities add Son of God
>> At 1:25:58 to 1:26:02, “Jeremiah 21” was meant to be “Jeremiah 7:21.”
