Demonstrating Lubuntu 18.04 LTS on my first full time Linux Box from 2003

It's Templar's turn to get some attention. I blew off the dust & decided to catch everyone up as to what happened since last it was featured.

Linux-Mandrake didn't boot after install because of the CF to IDE adapter.
Redhat installed ok but lack of known good RPMs is a major hinderance.
I really didn't think either of those 2 distro choices through.
Therefore, I installed Lubuntu 18.04 LTS to emulate the experience of my older Redhat based setup. Back then, I was trying to eschew using Windows on newer hardware and that phase didn't really last.

Here I'll demonstrate a few applications that I used while adjusting to using Linux as my then daily driver
XFE aka X File Explorer
QMMP (fork of XMMS which is like WinAMP)
Abiword (Word Processor)
Gnumeric (Spreadsheet)
Firefox trying in vain to cope with 2022 Youtube

The next part will feature some games including Unreal Tournament

Hardware in use includes the following:
Microstar MS-6714 Socket 478
Intel Pentium 4 @ 3.06 GHz
2GB of DDR PC400
Video Card nVidia Geforce 7600GS AGP (with busted fan)
SoundBlaster Live! 24-Bit
IDE DVD-ROM
IDE CDROM
