Maa Kalaratri | #navratri Day 7 | #kalaratri Mantra

Namaste, welcome to our channel where we share spiritual and devotional content with you. In this video, we will talk about Maa Kalaratri, the seventh form of Maa Durga, who is worshipped on the seventh day of Navratri. We will also tell you about the puja vidhi, mantra, significance, and benefits of worshipping Maa Kalaratri.

Maa Kalaratri is one of the most powerful and fearsome forms of Maa Durga. She is also known as Goddess Shubhankari, Goddess Kalratri, Goddess Kaalratri, Goddess Mahakali, Goddess Chamunda, Goddess Chandi, Goddess Bhadrakali, Goddess Kali, Goddess Bhairavi, and Goddess Rudrani. Her name means "the one who is black as night" or "the one who brings the death of darkness". She is the destroyer of all evil forces and ignorance.

Maa Kalaratri has a dark complexion, tangled hair, and a ferocious appearance. She has four hands and three eyes, which shine as bright and red as fire. She rides a donkey and wears a garland of skulls around her neck. In her right hands, she holds the Abhaya (fearlessness) and Varada (boon-giving) mudras, and in her left hands, she holds a sword and a deadly iron hook. She breathes out flames from her nostrils and has a tongue that protrudes out of her mouth.

According to Hindu mythology, Maa Kalaratri was created by Maa Durga to kill the demons Shumbha, Nishumbha, Chanda, Munda, and Raktabeej. These demons had defeated the gods and taken over the heaven with their army. The gods prayed to Maa Durga for help and she created Maa Chandi to fight them. However, Maa Chandi could not kill Raktabeej because he had a boon from Lord Brahma that every drop of his blood that fell on the ground would create another clone of him. To overcome this problem, Maa Durga removed her outer golden skin and became Maa Kalaratri. She fought with Raktabeej and drank his blood before it could touch the ground. She also killed Chanda and Munda with her sword and hook and presented their heads to Maa Chandi. Thus, she saved the world from the tyranny of the demons.

Maa Kalaratri is worshipped on the seventh day of Navratri or Saptami. This year, it falls on October 2nd, Sunday. The first day of Saraswati Puja during Navratri also takes place on this day and is known as Saraswati Avahan (invocation of the goddess).

The puja vidhi for worshipping Maa Kalaratri is as follows:

- Wake up early in the morning and take a bath. Wear clean orange clothes as it is the auspicious color for this day.
- Clean your puja room or altar and place an idol or picture of Maa Kalaratri on it.
- Offer red flowers, sindoor (vermilion), kumkum (red powder), akshat (rice grains), roli (red thread), chandan (sandalwood paste), dhoop (incense), deep (lamp), naivedya (food offering), jaggery dishes, coconut, fruits, betel leaves, betel nuts, cloves, cardamom, etc. to the goddess.
- Light a ghee lamp and incense sticks and chant the following mantra 108 times:

Prayer Mantra
एकवेणी जपाकर्णपूरा नग्ना खरास्थिता।
