# সন্ধ্যায় সন্ধ্যা আরতির সাক্ষী হওয়া ভক্তদের জন্য এটি একটি আধ্যাত্মিকভাবে প্রাণবন্ত অভিজ্ঞতা। তাদের ভগবানকে ধূপ, প্রদীপ, জল, বস্ত্র, ফুল, চামরা ও ব্যাঞ্জন নিবেদন করা হয় সুমধুর সঙ্গীতের সাথে গৌর-আরতি গানের সাথে।

আরতি অনুষ্ঠানটি আগুনের আচার বা হোমার প্রাচীন বৈদিক ধারণা থেকে এসেছে বলে মনে করা হয়। অন্যরা এটিকে বহু শতাব্দী আগে মন্দিরের গুহার মতো অভ্যন্তরীণ গর্ভগৃহের অন্ধকার অবকাশের গভীরে একটি মূর্তি সেট আলোকিত করার অনুশীলনকে দায়ী করে।

কথিত আছে যে সূর্যাস্তের পর প্রভু শ্রীনাথজি বাইরে খেলতে গিয়ে আঘাত পেয়েছিলেন কিনা তা দেখার জন্য সন্ধ্যা আরতি করা হয়।

("আলোর অনুষ্ঠান") সংস্কৃত আত্রিকা, কোনো দেবতা বা কোনো ব্যক্তির প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানানোর জন্য আলোকিত প্রদীপ দোলানো। আচার পালন করার সময়, উপাসক একটি প্রার্থনা জপ করার সময় বা একটি স্তোত্র গাওয়ার সময় ঘড়ির কাঁটার দিকে তিনবার প্রদীপটিকে প্রদক্ষিণ করে।

# It is a spiritually enlivening experience for the devotees to witness the sandhya arati in the evening. Their Lordships are offered incense, lamp, water, cloth, flowers, chamara and vyajana to the accompaniment of Gaura-arati song with melodious music.

the arti ceremony is said to have descended from the ancient Vedic concept of fire rituals, or homa. Others attribute it to the practice many centuries ago of illuminating a murti set deep inside the dark recess of a mandir's cave-like inner sanctum.

It is said that Sandhya arti is done to see if Lord Shrinathji had gotten hurt while playing outside because it is performed after sundown.
