Cycling Across England! Coast to Coast Cycle, Whitehaven to Sunderland | C2C 2021

Finally time to do the Coast to Coast (or C2C) cycle across England! Our route was from Whitehaven, on the west coast, to Sunderland, on the east coast. This is possibly the best C2C route, taking us through England’s Lake District National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. How long does it take to do the C2C cycle? Some people do it in a single day, whereas others take a week or more; we decided to do it over four days so we could take our time and enjoy the beauty of the areas we were cycling through!Show more

Day 0: Birmingham-Whitehaven. Not the easiest of things to do with my suspected rotator cuff tear (sustained during a Tough Mudder race just two days prior), but the journey consisted of a short cycle from the flat to Birmingham New Street, a 1.5 hour train to Preston, a 3 hour train to Whitehavaen, and another short cycle to our hotel. I met up with the team: Conor, Sophie, Dec and Hanson, and we went for a curry before getting a good sleep in ahead of the first day of the cycle.
