This week we have Mathias Engelmann, a biologist and Senior Rehabilitation Coordinator from the Carolina Raptor Center to discuss various aerial predators to our chickens. Mathias discusses the behaviors of hawks, owls, and falcons so we can learn different ways we can keep our flock safe. For example, when is hawk and owl pressure the highest? Is an eagle a threat to your flock? Does having a fake owl or fake crows scare away hawks? And so much more.
