*** ভগবদ্গীতা হল মহাভারতে লিপিবদ্ধ একটি পর্ব, প্রাচীন ভারতের একটি সংস্কৃত মহাকাব্য। এটি হিন্দুধর্মের একটি প্রভাবশালী ধর্মীয় পাঠ্য যা হিন্দু দেবতা বিষ্ণুর অবতার রাজকুমার অর্জুন এবং কৃষ্ণের মধ্যে একটি কথোপকথনের রূপ নেয়। এটি সম্ভবত খ্রিস্টীয় ১ম বা ২য় শতাব্দীতে রচিত হয়েছিল।

গীতা বলে: "আপনার বরাদ্দকৃত কাজ করুন কিন্তু তার ফল ত্যাগ করুন - বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে কাজ করুন - পুরষ্কার এবং কাজের জন্য কোন আকাঙ্ক্ষা নেই।" এটাই গীতার অকাট্য শিক্ষা। যে কর্ম ত্যাগ করে সে পতিত হয়। যে শুধু পুরস্কার ত্যাগ করে সে উঠে যায়।
