একটি বিশ্বাস আছে যে মনসা মানুষকে সাপের কামড় থেকে রক্ষা করে। সাপের কামড় প্রতিরোধ ও নিরাময়ের জন্য এবং উর্বরতা ও ঐশ্বর্যের জন্য সর্পদের পৌরাণিক দেবতা মনসাকে পূজা করা হয়। পুরাণে, মনসাকে নাগাদের রাজা বাসুকির বোন হিসেবে দেখানো হয়েছে।

কিংবদন্তি। এই গল্পে, দেবী মনসাকে ভগবান শিবের কন্যা বলে বিশ্বাস করা হয়েছিল। তার সৎ মা পার্বতী তাকে পছন্দ করতেন না, তাই তিনি শিবের আরেকটি কন্যার সাথে পৃথিবীতে বসবাস করার সিদ্ধান্ত নেন, যার নাম নেতা। তার পিতামাতার কোন নিশ্চিতকরণের কারণে, মনসা দেবী কখনোই প্রিমিয়াম দেবতার মর্যাদা পাননি।

There is a belief that Manasa protects the people from snake bite. MANASA the mythological deity of the serpents is worshipped for the prevention and cure of snakebite and also for fertility and opulence. In the Puranas, Manasa is featured as the sister of Vasuki, king of Nagas.

Legend. In this tale, Goddess Manasa was believed to be the daughter of Lord Shiva. Her stepmother Parvati did not like her, so she decided to live on earth with another daughter of Shiva, called Neta. Owing to no confirmation in her parentage, Manasa Devi never really had the stature of a premium deity.
