A collection of the best 1986 after Christmas commercials money can buy. Happy New Years! This was recorded on Jan 1st, 1986 during the “Mummers Parade” (https://youtu.be/D7AFuDrvxys). You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll wonder why that kids’ mom keeps talking about “scat.” It took me a while to fix the audio on these since it’s such an old tape and showing some series magnetic decay. Commentary:

-McDonalds Reindeer Commercial Free stuffed Reindeer, sweet. “Santa Claus The Movie”. I had never heard of this movie. I think it’s about Santa. I love the “Errrugh?” noise the reindeer makes.

-Sexy Swan Vanderbilt perfume commercial.

-OMG Velveeta commercial jingle! “Like Colby, Swiss, and cheddar, blended all together....”

-Famous “Hey Mikey, he likes it” Life Cereal Commercial. Also, did you catch the Fisher Price toys tie in promotion? Up to 150 dollars in rebates. For toys. In 1986 money. I guess this is what people spent money on before cell phones and streaming.

-80s TV Show Trailers and Previews: I love the 80’s narrator for these TV show promos and trailers. I’ll put them in a separate video by themselves. (put the link here future Junknasium). Lee Majors (the 6 million dollar man) is at it again! This time as the fall guy. Faaaaaaaallllll guy. Good job narrator. “Never Stop Until I find you…”. Someone write in the comments what song that is. I’m actually editing this while the internet is down and can’t check, and probably will forget to come back to this.

Lady Blue- Oh man. I had never heard of this but now I want to watch it. The acting looks atrocious. But I do like me a stacked redhead. Much like all 80’s redheads with a perm, she reminds me of Dr. Beverly Crusher of Star Trek The Next Generation Fame. This is one sexy dame? Did you see her danger roll away from that guy? She’s got it all boys.

-Sexy Brut cologne commercial- There she is, just sniffing a bottle of brut. This stuff is literal liquid panty remover. She sniffs the cologne, writhes around a bit, and then literally drops her panties. Hot damn, I need me some of this drugstore cologne.

Tyco bricks (like Legos)- “When Tyco takes on Lego, we beat them at their own game.” I like that confidence narrator guy. I had no idea they were compatible way back then. I wonder if they all have tyco written on the blocks? The name Tyco reminds of me Tycho Brahe (look him up).

-Purina Cat Chow Jingle- ”You’re a part of me Purina Cat Chow..” If the cat chow is part of you, doesn’t that mean you’re eating the cat chow?

Aamco Transmissions- Now this is a commercial. Police chases through box ridden back alleys, because transmissions, that’s why. 10/10

-Philadelphia Tourism/ Channel 10 News- I could really go for one of this big pretzels.

-The Olds Connection Man, that oldsmobile isn’t a car- it’s a plane. It didn’t jump over something; it was just flying through the air at the end.

-Pampers Disco Babies Commercial

-Scrabble People. There people holding scrabble pieces. Never heard of it. Why does the mom spell out the word SCAT? Did scat mean something different in the 80s? It means poop nowadays. Ok… I just looked it up and I forgot that scat also means “scram.” But I’ve never heard anyone say it in that context. Just the context of “don’t step in the dog poop, he’s been eating cat scat again.”

-ABC Soap Trailers “Can you feel it” Jingle- All My Children*, One Life To Live- Nicky Confronts her mirror twin Vicky. Love American Style- I wonder what that one is about?
