The actual attitude of devotional service, particularly applicable in this age and at this time, is a conservative psychology, not a liberal one. The advanced brähmin possesses within himself a liberal intelligence, but that remains personal, i.e., it is not applicable to being transferred into any institutional arrangement, particularly in the West. That the uttama-adhikäri sees all other devotees serving the Lord better than himself does not translate into his formulating a Krsna movement based upon such inconceivable, personal psychology. Bhaktas and bhaktins, in terms of practical preaching, interaction, and proselytizing efforts, are not merely conservative–they are ultra-conservative. As such, they do not experiment with new attitudes, ideas, lifestyles, and belief systems that are contrary to sästra, logic, and paramparä precedent, and they have no attraction to doing so.
