Total panels: 42 Sunpower X22
Battery type: 2x 13kwh Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4)

This solar system start to finish took a long time. The process started in April 2022 and due to product shortages, the install didn't start until the end of August 2022. They got it functional, the meter was spinning backwards at a fast rate! But due to a new PG&E requirement, they had to make major changes to the Sunpower app which delayed the actual finalization of the battery backup system. It took a couple extra months for them to get it working. So here we are at the end of October and it FINALLY is all working. I wanted to give it some time to show the results for this time of year anyway. Obviously, it should be even more powerful (the panel output) in the middle of summer with lots of daylight hours. Right now the time just changed so it isn't everything it can be with limited sun. But it is still awesome! Our bill is dropping at a fast pace and the peace of mind with the battery backup (while retaining our whole-house generator just in case) is something we really like!

As stated in the video, once "peak rates" start kicking in (4-9pm typically) the battery bank starts supplying the house which also cuts the bill down. It does that for the entire night until it reaches my specified reserve capacity. They recommend 20% reserve but i like to keep at least 60% when there is no threat of a looming outage. If i know there could be trouble (heavy wind, rain or snow) i can put it into "reserve mode" and keep 100% ready at all times. It is a really nice system! I will check back next summer and let you guys know how it did all winter long and how it will be doing when it has much better sun. So far so good! Thanks for watching if you did!
