Just finished this skateboard miniramp building project for my nephews in their mid-1800s barn...just enough time for the obligatory screw-check, a.k.a. inaugural run, before we left...trying to remember some of the old school maneuvers from back in the day...now back to the forge! Most of the wood was salvaged, including all of the framing, transitions, and half of the sheeting...top surface is 3/8 MDF...ramp is 12 feet wide and 32 feet long including decks, transition sections are 36 inches and 27 inches high, straight bank is about 48 inches high...the steel pipe for the coping came from their old well pipe...

Notes for my nephews: quarter pipe is the curved "transition" ramp, straight bank is the flat one...transfer is any move that goes between two ramps (eg. the quarter to the flat)...fakie means riding backwards, with the tail first...frontside means your body approaches facing the coping, backside means you are facing away from the coping...5-0 means one truck is on the coping, 50-50 means both trucks contact...turns are measured in degrees, 180 (half turn) and 360 (full turn) are the most common, but 270 (3/4 turn) can be useful on a halfpipe or rail...
