Interview with New Zealand Farmer Jaspreet Boparai

Jaspreet Boparai is a 44 Yr old farming mum and wife, who manages a 1200 cow farm in Western Southland at the very bottom of the South Island of New Zealand.

Jaspreet and her husband, ex - bankers migrated to New Zealand in 2009 from Punjab, India’s wheat basket and their love of the land runs deep.

We discuss the pressures NZ farmers are currently facing; including pine forestry, multinational ownership of farms, increasing taxes, the carbon credit industry which has led to environmental destruction as seen in the recent cyclone Gabrielle.

Jaspreet has a family lineage working for the UN peacekeepers, and she outlines the legacy of the UN through its interventions, and its support of the Green Revolution which has decimated the land in a number of countries.

Jaspreet has watched with dismay as the same interventions started rolling out in NZ, and she decided to stand up and fight locally. She was voted into her local Council, and takes seriously the obligation she has to represent the people on the land. She is a member of Voices For Freedom and has a number of videos documenting the UN and its increasing control of every countries sovereignty.
