Traditionally, there have always been a number of accepted principles of behavior that are considered standard for anyone who wishes to be considered an honorable member of Vedic society. These many principles are found throughout the totality of the Vedic scriptures. In this livestream talk and Q&A session, Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya focuses on one such list of civilized behavior that is found in the Vishnu Dharma Shastra, an important sacred text that is found in the Dharma Shastra sub-genre of the Vedic literature.

"Forgiveness, truthfulness, self-control, purity, charity, restraint of senses, abstention from injury, service toward the elders, journeying on pilgrimage, mercy, simplicity, absence of avarice, adoration of the murtis and brahmanas, and renunciation of envy are spoken of as the general duties of all followers of Vedic culture". (Vishnu Dharma Shastra, 2, 7-8)
