Culture - a dialogos style exploration

Another dialogos, exploratory conversation with Manuel Post (who has a wonderful YouTube channel linked below) on the concept of culture.
What is culture? How do we confuse it with fashion? The form and function of culture are important, the spirit of our cooperation matters for how we orient in the world. The rules and norms which we use to interface with one another are part of our distributed cognition for navigating the world at large.
What makes culture different from a mere cult? What are the pits we can fall into and how does culture help us to get out of these pits? A shared cultural frame is important because it provides flagpoles we use such as language.
A common set of axioms provides a perspective which culture helps to provide so that you can cooperate with others in terms of values. This allows us to rely on one another within a context that matters to us. Culture itself grounds us in virtue and values and binds us with a common perspective that enables better cooperation through time.
This was a lovely exploration of the concept of culture, how it enables right participation, distributed cognition, intimacy, affordance, context, perspective and grounding.
