Schroder played with the Lakers during the 2020-21 NBA Season, where he excelled and was comfortable. Rob Pelinka and the Lakers offered Schroder a 4-year $84 million deal to return to Los Angeles, but Schroder declined and opted to sign a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics worth $5.9 million last season. Schroder returns to the Lakers to help them make LeBron James and Anthony Davis push for the 2023 NBA Playoffs, which the Lakers missed last season. Schroder has been starring for Germany in EuroBasket 2022, leading Germany to the semifinals of the tournament.
