Drawing a Skeletal Formula from a Condensed Structural Formula Chemistry

Being able to convert between skeletal formula to condensed structural formula is a very important skill to have when doing any chemistry course. Condensed structural formula (condensed formula) display structural data in a concise easy to read way. Unfortunately, Condensed structural formula are not as useful when drawing a lot of structures or drawing large structures. This is why most organic chemists use skeletal formula. Skeletal formula use lines to represent carbons and the hydrogens bonded to them. It is much easier to use but provides the chemist with much less structural detail.
