Unboxing & Installing a Toobin' & a Hydra by Atari Games

https://arcadeheroes.com - In the past when I've unboxed and installed an arcade machine, it's been something brand new. Today is different, as I received two retro games - one made in 1988 and the other in 1990. Both games were made by Atari Games and also designed by the same guy - Dennis Harper. Fortunately, after speaking with Mr. Harper, I purchased both of these machines from him, which have been in his possession since his days at Atari. He also programmed/designed Return of the Jedi, Road Riot 4WD, Primal Rage and others. I received these just in time for Atari's 50th birthday.

Toobin' is one of the most unique arcade games ever made, as you go down various rivers on an inner tube. Paddle to navigate around obstacles and grab cans to throw at opponents. It's a lot of fun in two player mode and it has a fantastic looking monitor.

Hydra is not as well known as it had a limited production run and didn't receive many home ports - I had never come across the arcade version until today. I discovered the game back in the 90s on the Atari Lynx however, which had a very good port. What makes the one you see in this video special is that it's a prototype model! So not only is it rare as-is, it's unique among existing Hydra cabinets.
