Former Sinclair MD Nigel Searle gave us some wonderful background on Sir Clive Sinclair, specifically how he was just born to invent and that is primarily all he really wanted to do. He was always so excited about that 'next' idea and slightly less so once it had been designed, built and shipped. Sir Clive Sinclair also seemed to be excited by the risk of creating something, by somehow finding the money to fund it and the risk of failure that came with it. This short clip has Nigel going into more detail about that risk while also offering some wonderful insight into what working with Sir Clive Sinclair was really like.

This clip is from our new documentary film celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Sinclair ZX Spectrum.

2022 will mark 40 years since the Sinclair ZX Spectrum was released in April 1982! The ZX Spectrum computer went onto sell over 5 million units and was one of the most important contributions in 50 years of video game history, and for many was the most important and perhaps most loved!

It wasn't just the wonderful library of computer games that sprung up because of the ZX Spectrum, but it was the chief component that kick-started the British Video Games Industry in the 1980s!

With this project, we are making a standalone 80min feature film documentary plus loads of additional featurettes and game design stories that cover a huge array of subjects all to do with our mutual love for the ZX Spectrum and put it all into one celebratory, 40th anniversary package!
