When Devin Booker Gets ANGRY...This Happens!

Booker goes on the drive, floats it up while getting hit and falling to the ground. You can see that he’s frustrated about the no call and gets up almost looking like he wants revenge, swipes at the ball and actually steals it from Jokic. One dribble, the lob and the jam.
Again, just a few minutes later in the same quarter, on the miss by Payne, you get the same feistiness as Devin rips the ball away from Jamychal Green and finishes strong with the and-1, and you can see the emphatic reaction.
Book ended the game with 49 points and 10 assists on 16 for 25 that’s 64%, incredible performance, displayed in a fiery way.
But what’s actually the problem? What’s causing these revenge games from him? Let me explain. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it.
After the game, Kyrie Irving went on twitter and crowned Booker as his MVP.
Now, this could very well be credit given from one Kobe disciple to another, but a few days ago Isiah Thomas (the original one) tweeted this out.
Basically saying that the leading scorer on the team with the best record has always been in the MVP conversation # criteria.
And Booker’s response is key here, as he thanked him for the support but acknowledged the fact that the criteria changes depending on the player.
What he wants to say here is that if a team with a more flashy player had the best record, for example Brooklyn with KD, or the Lakers with Lebron, or Celtics with Tatum, then they would automatically would be the frontrunners for the MVP award as the best players on the league leading team. Devin feels like he’s getting overlooked.
So now all of a sudden there’s a ton of discussions on twitter, ESPN also had a video this morning about whether he deserves a bigger consideration and this is turning into a bigger deal.
Honestly I like it just for the recognition aspect of it. Both for him and for the Suns. They are the best team in the West for the second straight year, and while I’ve been saying that they’re my favorites to go to the finals again, people somehow forgot how good they are, and you hear everyone talk about the return of Golden State, the emergence of Memphis, the new look and boost for the Mavericks after the deadline. But Phoenix always kind of gets left behind.
Now, do I think that Booker has a case to be the MVP?
26.3 PPG / 5 REB / 5 AST / 46.2% FG / 37.5% 3PT
Honestly I feel like with these numbers, on a team that’s terrific on every position top to bottom, a systematic team that plays great together regardless if someone is in or out of the lineup… I feel like there are guys doing more and getting wins with much less on their roster. Posting bigger numbers as well. So no, I don’t see him as a frontrunner by any means.
This is not a knock on Book of course, but that’s just my personal opinion, and this is solely for that individual award. As a team I gotta say once again that they are deadly, and an extremely tough out in the playoffs.
As for Devin, he can take all of this as an added motivation, since as we can see that’s working very well for him, and he seems to be gearing up at the best possible time just before the playoffs.
Let me know in the comments who’s your MVP and why. That’s it for now, subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.
