Is Kyrie Irving FORCING Reunion With LeBron James And The Los Angeles Lakers?
The latest Kyrie Irving trade rumors make it seem like the Lakers are the frontrunner to land Irving. Brian Windhorst talked about the latest Lakers trade rumors on ESPN and said, “ He is focused on forcing himself to the LA Lakers. Talking to league executives over the last couple hours, the value of Kyrie Irving in a trade has absolutely plummeted. They know that he's going to be a pure rental, if he doesn't want to go to a situation he's going to, it's unclear what he will do. As Stephen A. has said multiple times, he hasn't even been motivated to play in places he's wanted to be.”

But if the Nets don’t get to a place with Kyrie Irving where they think that things will improve, I think they could revisit this and depending on what else the Nets might be looking at, I don’t think it’s impossible that this could be looked at down the line.

Lakers free agency is quickly approaching, and we finally have the much expected Lakers news on the Russell Westbrook player option. Amid the Lakers trade rumors, Russ has exercised his $47.1 MM player option for the 2022 NBA season. Lakers rumors today still feature Kyrie Irving, with conflicting information from Shams Charania and Brian Windhorst of ESPN on whether the Kyrie Irving trade rumors are finally put to bed. We also explore Lakers trade rumors on today’s video - Gordon Hayward and Malcolm Brogdon were both listed as Lakers trade targets, along with several other names to pursue in NBA Free Agency. That’s all coming up on the Lakers Report by Chat Sports with host Chase Senior!

The Pat McAfee Show hosted Shams on Tuesday to discuss Russell Westbrook’s player option, and here’s what he had to say:
- His future is in L.A. The Lakers want to see this work this upcoming season, from everything I’ve been told. There have been different trade scenarios that have been thrown out, I guess speculated on, but with a new coach in Darvin Ham, I really believe this front office group, this management group, the coaching staff, Russell Westbrook, they all want this to work … I do believe they feel like Russell Westbrook is the fit for this team.
Confidence level in Darvin Ham to get the most out of Russ? Scale it from 1-10
Lakers rumors were also spurred by Brian Windhorst and his comments on his podcast, “Brian Windhorst and the Hoop Collective”:
- I know that there are people in the league, and we're not talking about ancillary people, we're talking about high-ranking people, who believe that this is not done. I don't know. Let me just say this about the Lakers. He obviously was very interested in joining the Lakers. The Lakers were very interested in having him … Right now, I think if you’re a Laker fan, you’re kind of let down that this door closed. And I’m not saying open it back up, but I’m saying don’t quite lock the lock yet because, depending on what the Nets want to achieve, it’s not impossible that that could be revisited, this time in trade form.
DON’T LIE! Were you upset when you saw the Kyrie news? Type ‘Y’ for Yes, Type ‘N’ for No
Lakers free agency targets and Lakers trade targets proposed by Bleacher Report after the Kyrie Irving news:

Lakers “Considered The Biggest Threat” To Pry Kyrie Irving From Nets, Per NBA Insider
Kyrie Irving rumors are officially ON FIRE! Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN dropped yet another Woj Bomb on fans and ignited Lakers rumors by reporting Los Angeles is “considered the most significant threat right now for Kyrie Irving” if he leaves the Brooklyn Nets. Lakers trade rumors grew earlier this week around a potential Kyrie trade, and with NBA Free Agency right around the corner, things could continue to heat up. Lakers free agency is cash-strapped, so the best way to add Kyrie through a Lakers trade would likely be to include a 3rd team. On today’s Lakers Report by Chat Sports, Chase Senior takes you through the latest Kyrie Irving Lakers rumors as well as 3 potential Lakers trade ideas to get him in purple and gold!
Woj did not quiet any Lakers rumors linking them to Kyrie Irving - if anything, this quote added more gas to the fire:
- His options outside of the Nets, especially if the Nets are not willing or don’t get engaged in sign-and-trade talks, are limited … The Lakers are considered the most significant threat right now for Kyrie Irving, but that would essentially entail him taking $30 million less than he can opt into in Brooklyn. There’s a $6 million taxpayer exemption he could sign with the Lakers with. Now, most people would say a player’s not going to give up that much money, but Kyrie Irving gave up nearly $17 million last year because of his refusal to get vaccinated … He’s in the process of losing that shoe deal with Nike. So, I think that the Nets have gone into this with their eyes open that it’s possible he could walk. He has done things differently in his career. But I think there’s a sweet spot for Nets and Kyrie Irving to find a deal.
Lakers trade rumors thus erupted, but Marc Stein dispelled some of the buzz Adrian Wojnarowski put out there while also shining some light on potential Kyrie-LeBron discussions this offseason:
- There are credible rumblings in circulation that Irving, for starters, has indeed had some recent contact with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, his former Cleveland teammate, to presumably discuss a potential reunion in Hollywood. I’m told it would be a stretch, though, to suggest that the Lakers are currently pursuing Irving.

Kyrie Irving highlights are absolutely breathtaking, and the raw numbers are too. While Kyrie highlights will impress any fan, his inability to stay on the court will not:
- 2021-22 Stats (29 GP): 27.4 PPG, 5.8 APG, 46.9 FG%, 41.8 3P%
- 2020-21 Stats (54 GP): 26.9 PPG, 6.0 APG, 50.6 FG%, 40.2 3P%
- 2019-20 Stats (20 GP): 27.4 PPG, 6.4 APG, 47.8 FG%, 39.4 3P%
- 2018-19 Stats (67 GP): 23.8 PPG, 6.9 APG, 48.7 FG%, 40.1 3P%
If you want Kyrie Irving in Los Angeles… Give the video a Rumble! If not, comment why!
Kyrie Irving trade ideas will now take over the Internet as NBA fans try and find some way to get Kyrie on their team. Here are 3 Lakers trade ideas we cooked up:
Lakers Trade #1
- Lakers Receive: Kyrie Irving
- Hornets Receive: Russell Westbrook, 2027 1st Round Pick (via LAL, Lottery Prot.)
- Nets Receive: Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier, 2023 2nd Round Pick (via LAL)
Lakers Trade #2
- Lakers Receive: Kyrie Irving, Joe Harris
- Pacers Receive: Russell Westbrook, 2025 1st Round Pick (via LAL, Lottery Prot.), 2023 2nd Round Pick (via BKN)
- Nets Receive: Malcolm Brogdon, Buddy Hield, Talen Horton-Tucker
Lakers Trade #3
- Lakers Receive: Kyrie Irving
- Thunder Receive: Russell Westbrook, 2025 1st Round Pick (via LAL, Lottery Prot.)
- Nets Receive: Derrick Favors, Talen Horton-Tucker, Mike Muscala, 2023 + 2025 2nd Round Picks (via LAL)
What is the percent chance the Lakers sign Kyrie Irving?

Reports: Hornets Have “Real” Interest In A Russell Westbrook Trade With The Lakers
Lakers News and Rumors are still swirling - let’s walk through the latest with Chase Senior on today’s Lakers Report video:
- Russell Westbrook trade rumors are BACK! The most recent Lakers trade rumors from Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer suggests the Hornets trade interest in Russ is “real” as they look to offload contract like Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward.
- Kyrie Irving update: Lakers rumors caught fire yesterday as Los Angeles was listed as one of the top Kyrie Irving destinations if he were to leave the Brooklyn Nets. Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, however, quenched those Lakers trade rumors a little bit in his Tuesday report.
- Lakers trade rumors: Anthony Davis for Kyrie Irving trade? Brian Windhorst said on his podcast it’s the only Nets trade he envisions with Los Angeles, but that he has also looked into it and does not see the trade happening.
- Kendrick Nunn news: Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports what we all knew about the Kendrick Nunn player option - he’s informed the Lakers that he will exercise that player option for next season.
Will you join our NBA Draft live show? Type ‘H’ for Hell Yes, Type ‘L’ for I’m Lame
Lakers trade rumors today were kicked off by the latest around a Russell Westbrook trade to the Charlotte Hornets, similar to one that Kevin O’Connor mentioned on The Ringer 2022 NBA Mock Draft:
- Hornets Receive: Russell Westbrook
- Lakers Receive: Terry Rozier (G), Gordon Hayward (F)
Would you make this trade? Type ‘T’ for Trade, Type ‘P’ for Pass

Kyrie Irving rumors have been talk of the NBA this week - here were the teams initially linked to the Nets star in NBA rumors:
- New York Knicks
- Los Angeles Clippers
- Los Angeles Lakers
Lakers rumors were set ablaze when Los Angeles was linked to Kyrie, but Brian Windhorst practically shut down the idea of a Kyrie trade involving Russell Westbrook to the Nets. There is technically one other Lakers trade option, as Windhorst mentioned…
The only trade that I think makes sense that the Nets, I think, would do with the Lakers would be for Anthony Davis … Let me just say that I have investigated that, and I do not see that trade happening.
Who would you rather have? Type ‘AD’ for Anthony Davis or ‘KI’ for Kyrie Irving
Kendrick Nunn news wraps up today’s show, as ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported (while we were filming!) that Kendrick Nunn has exercised his player option for the 2022-23 NBA season. The Kendrick Nunn Lakers experiment hasn’t truly begun yet, as the guard suffered a bone bruise last preseason that snowballed and caused him to miss the entire season.

Could The Lakers Be Suitors For This STAR Point Guard To Reunite With LeBron?
Lakers free agency rumors are ON FIRE! Shams Charania ignited the Kyrie Irving-Lakers rumors, reporting that he could hit NBA free agency after talks with the Brooklyn Nets reached an impasse. Should the Lakers trade for Kyrie to reunite him and LeBron James alongside Anthony Davis? NBA trade rumors from Shams and Marc Stein have heavily featured John Collins, Myles Turner and Malcolm Brogdon this offseason, and that didn’t stop with the 2022 NBA Draft quickly approaching. Let’s take a look at the latest Lakers trade rumors with Harrison Graham on today’s Lakers Report by Chat Sports video!
Do you want Kyrie on the Lakers? Type ‘Y’ for Yes, Type ‘N’ for No
#1: Kyrie Irving rumors: Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the Nets and Kyrie’s talks stalled, leaving a door open for him to test the NBA free agency market:
- An impasse currently exists among the parties that clears the way for the seven-time All-Star to consider the open marketplace … The Lakers, Knicks and Clippers are expected to be among the interested suitors if Irving heads elsewhere, multiple sources tell The Athletic. For the Lakers, the likely path to acquire Irving — and reunite him with LeBron James — would be Irving opting in to facilitate a trade, because the Lakers cannot realistically clear cap space to sign him themselves, and a sign-and-trade would trigger the hard cap, thus making acquiring Irving significantly more difficult.
Predict it: Who will be the Lakers’ point guard next season?
#2: NBA trade rumors: Marc Stein’s Substack featured an interesting nugget on the latest Hawks trade rumors, saying the likelihood of a John Collins trade is “as high as it’s ever been”. Chris Jent, the recently-hired top assistant on the Lakers coaching staff, was credited by many for his development of John Collins with the Atlanta Hawks - especially from deep:
- 2017-18: 34.0 3P% (0.6 3PA)
- 2018-19: 34.8 3P% (2.6 3PA)
- 2019-20: 40.1 3P% (3.6 3PA)
- 2020-21: 39.9 3P% (3.3 3PA)
- 2021-22: 36.4 3P% (3.3 3PA)
Level of interest in John Collins? Scale it from 1-10
The Lakers Report is also on Rumble with uncensored, uncut Lakers coverage! Give our page a follow today: http://rumble.com/LakersTV
#3: Lakers trade rumors this offseason have linked them heavily to Myles Turner and Malcolm Brogdon of the Indiana Pacers, and the most recent report from Shams confirms the Pacers trade rumors leading up to the 2022 NBA Draft:
The Pacers are seriously discussing trades centered on Malcolm Brogdon and Myles Turner, sources said. The Wizards and Knicks are interested in Brogdon, armed with the Nos. 10 and 11 picks respectively, sources said. The Hornets have expressed interest in Turner, those sources said. Still, Indiana, which has the No. 6 pick in the draft, could elect to continue retooling its veteran core rather than rebuild entirely around young players.
Pick one to trade for! Type ‘B’ for Malcolm Brogdon, Type ‘T’ for Myles Turner

Kai Sotto Scouting Profile: Could The Lakers Draft The Philippines STAR?
On the show for today, we’re hitting some Lakers draft rumors! The Los Angeles Lakers are looking ahead to the 2022 NBA Draft which is just a week away, and one of the most polarizing and popular NBA Draft prospects in the 2022 NBA Draft class is Kai Sotto of the Philippines. Sotto is attempting to become the first Filipino born player to get drafted by an NBA team. On the show today, Chase Senior is going to relay his thoughts on Kai Sotto and give you a Kai Sotto scouting profile, and break down if the Lakers could draft the Philippines star.
Follow the Lakers Report on Rumble today for uncensored and uncut Lakers videos: http://rumble.com/LakersTV
Kai Sotto storyline:
Will he be first Filipino-born draftee?
Came to the US to attend Skill Factory
4-star recruit in high school
Joined G-League Ignite
Played for National team & 36ers
Jeremiah Boswell On Kai Sotto Highlights (He was Sotto’s Skill Factory Coach)
“With that size and length, his ability to play the game with his mind, see the floor, pass the ball, shoot the ball, he can really do everything so he’s unique in that. There are things he can always improve on. In the NBA, there’s a lot of small ball, switching on pick and rolls so how does he move laterally? Can he switch on guards? How does he play pick and roll? Can he hedge and get back?”
If you think Sotto is worthy of getting drafted…LIKE the video If not, comment WHY
- Which team do you want to see Sotto go to?
- Will Sotto get drafted? Type ‘Y’ for Yes, Type ‘N’ for No
Kai Sotto’s agent, Joel Bell on Kai Sotto scouting:
“Teams that scouted Australia this year — which surprisingly, given the history of Australia sending players to the NBA is not as extensive as one might imagine — we're very enthusiastic about Kai. That's why we have so many teams that wanna bring him in for individual workouts. And we actually already have commitments from at least one team that said if he stays in the draft, we'll draft him. We have that already.”
Potential Kai Sotto destinations:
New York Knicks
Los Angeles Lakers
Boston Celtics
Golden State Warriors
Dallas Mavericks
Orlando Magic
Cleveland Cavaliers
Chicago Bulls
Atlanta Hawks

Are The Lakers ‘Trying To Angle’ For A BLOCKBUSTER Bradley Beal Trade?
Lakers trade rumors are HOT as the 2022 NBA Finals come to a close, meaning Lakers Free Agency and the 2022 NBA Draft are right around the corner. Bradley Beal rumors haven’t stopped since his interview with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report where he discussed returning to the Wizards in NBA Free Agency, yet Kevin O’Connor suggested potential Lakers trade interest in the star guard. Is 76ers guard Matisse Thybulle the dream when it comes to Lakers trade targets this offseason? Plus, LeBron James was hyping up Anthony Davis on Instagram - Chase Senior gives his thoughts on that as well as the Anthony Davis Lethal Shooter workout. That’s all coming up on the Lakers Report by Chat Sports!
#1: Bradley Beal trade rumors: Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer added some fire to Lakers trade rumors on “The Void” podcast:
- The one name that I’ve heard recently is Bradley Beal as another guy that they want. I’m not sure if the interest is as mutual. You know Beal, it seems like Miami would be more of the threat to take him away from Washington. I don’t think you can also rule out Boston either because of his relationship with Jayson Tatum, but the Lakers are trying to angle for some moves like that using the Russ expiring [contract] and the ’27 and the ’29 firsts.
Should the Lakers add Bradley Beal? Type ‘Y’ for Yes, Type ‘N’ for No
#2: LeBron James hyped up AD on Instagram by posting an Anthony Davis highlights reel with a caption mentioning that “in due time… I can’t wait for it to be unleashed”. Anthony Davis was also pictured after working out with Lethal Shooter, a well-known shooting coach. These comments came after he said on the Nuke Squad YouTube page that he hadn’t shot a basketball in weeks

#3: Matisse Thybulle trade? The latest Lakers trade rumors from Fansided have tied Los Angeles to the 76ers defensive ace, who, according to the latest NBA trade rumors, is among the players reportedly being shopped:
- Thybulle would be absolutely wonderful in Los Angeles. He was consistently the one guard in the league who was putting up a better Defensive Box Plus/Minus than Alex Caruso when Caruso was with the Lakers. Thybulle is very similar to Caruso in that regard as he is not a huge offensive threat and is merely a role player but is an elite perimeter defender.

It would be a goal for us to somehow get in the second round to get a young player that we can develop.
