ASRH_S2E5: A Discussion of S2E4 "Nourishing the Soul of a Child" PART ONE
In this episode we discuss S2E4: Judah's fascinating talk "Nourishing the Soul of a Child". So if you haven't yet listened to S2E4 you might want to check it out first.
Note: we recorded another episode prior to this one which focuses largely on the Hindu epic Mahabharata - some of this conversation is referenced in the first part of this episode. It seemed appropriate to discuss Judah's talk directly after its broadcast - and so the "epic discussion" will appear as S2E7 in two weeks time. Enjoy!

ASRH_S2E3: Nourishing the Soul of a Child
For the second time in ASRH history Noah and Judah were unable to schedule a conversation...consequently Judah offers this recording of a recent talk he gave at The Siskiyou School in Ashland Oregon on 12/5/18.
This talk presents a spiritual perspective on health rooted in the teachings of Rudolph Steiner. Enjoy!

ASRH_S2E3: Dilution & Delusion: The Hazards of Recording, Ways of Thinking, Symbols and Simulations.
This episode consists of some Assembly of Silence self reflection, a brief discussion of the bagua and trigrams, language and symbols, dilution of and delusion within meaning, inspiration, identity - being stripped bare of it and ultimately: “Who Am I?”

ASRH_S2E2: An exploration of Backstabbing Technology, Superficial Conversation, Political...
IN this episode we attempt to revisit a lost magical episode that we just managed to not record in which we were discussing conversation: its origins and significance. But then we get sidetracked into the most dismal of all topics: politics. Sorry. Perhaps we redeem ourselves by the end as we discuss the extremely long spans of time characterized by the yugas.

ASRH_S1E7: "Man-i-klepto": Humanity: the Criminal Species
Judah is AWOL and Noah is left to his own devices. With the aim of producing a extra special festive holiday edition scuttled by time constraints he reaches into the archives and pulls out a most bizarre and disturbing piece of audio art for your consideration. A perfect fit for the end of an extremely bizarre and disturbing year.
Humanity is said to have stolen fire from the gods. This first act of thievery sets the path we've walked ever since. What is criminality and why do we romanticize it so ardently in our entertainments?
There's a lot of tension between the rules necessary for social cohesion and the adaptive requirement that we continually be changing - breaking our rules so as to remain competitive and relevant to changing circumstance.
This piece explores these issues in a radio art format. Man-i-klepto was produced in 2006 by request of Maximillian Goldfarb.

ASRH_S1E6: What means "when Jesus said"?
In this episode Noah and Judah discuss the meaning of the story of Jesus (a view which can [to varying degrees] also be applied to all historical personages). We also discuss the difference between the original intent of a story and its ultimate purpose. Judah reveals the meaning of "abracadabra" and provides a profound definition for "demon" which reminds Noah of something Jesus said.

ASRH_S1E5: Honesty & Vulnerability in a Lying World
In this episode Judah makes the case for vulnerability while Noah takes a more cautious protective stance, examining the costs and benefits to being transparent about personal states of being. When is it OK to let out your demons and when do you have to suck it up, keep calm and carry on?
We conclude by noting that to speak truth in a world based upon lies is to risk destroying everything. So essentially this whole episode is a zero-sum game.

ASRH_S1E4: Idealized Stories
In this episode we begin by discussing equilibrium and death. We then distinguish between the knowable and the unknowable and speculate about the various reasons we make up so much stuff about the latter. This leads into questions about “truth, freedom and will” versus “lies, slavery and acceptance”. We then realize the value of a good story even if it’s based upon lies. We then accidentally light something on fire, discuss why the brain lies to us, imagine how this capacity came into being, and get drawn back into a bunch of speculation about the heart’s feelings using the overlay of the mind’s thoughts.

ASRH_S1E1: Welcome to Our Philosophical Spiritual Voyage
Judah and Noah have engaged in weird and wild conversations since the moment they met. Having determined to share their enthusiasms with the world the Assembly of Silence was born.
Topics range widely but tend to gravitate towards spiritual and philosophical concepts - with an occasional smattering of science, quasi-objective pragmatism and childish hilarity. Listen in disbelief as these guys talk themselves into the black rabbit hole of silent oblivion.
In this their first episode Judah and Noah discuss: - silence - meaning of words - who we are - self-improvement vs. understanding - what is self? - unknowable basis of reality - everything a manifestation of the mind of G-d? - avoiding the void - essential distractions - alone = all-one - science and the eternal conscious nature of being - the tetragrammaton and the unnameable - dog barking - cursing and swearing - promises - heart-mind - forgetting the lesson - heart rate variability and health - parasympathetic and sympathetic systems - technology and the future of humanity - the soul of the machine - evolutionary biology and evolution of consciousness...
