› Several new developments in the Department of Justice's prosecutions in connection with the events of January 6, 2021: (i) Ray Epps has filed a civil complaint alleging defamation against Fox, claiming that the DOJ has imminent plans to prosecute him criminally for his activity at the Capitol; (ii) the DOJ has also moved to appeal the sentences of Oath Keepers convicted of Seditious Conspiracy, including the sentence of Stewart Rhodes, indicating a clear dissatisfaction with the lengths of the convicted defendants' respective and forthcoming incarceration; and (iii) an Orlando, Florida, based actor, James Beeks, has been acquitted of the charges filed against him in connection with J6—and Beeks was a pro se litigant.

› Elon Musk announced via Twitter yesterday the launch of xAI with a tweet reading, "Announcing formation of @xAI to understand reality." Elon then hosted a Twitter Space in the evening and was joined by Ro Khanna and Mike Gallagher to discuss the premise of xAI, the challenges facing humanity related to the emergence of artificial intelligence, China's influence and role in that emergence, and the need for useful regulations attendant to A.I.'s development. We are fortunate to have Norm to offer a historical and philosophical perspective on the nature of what we conceive as our shared reality.
