18 Wheeler vs SUV, No Injuries, GOODRICH, September 29, 2021 - At approximately 12:15 pm on September 29, 2021, the driver of an 18 wheeler was north-bound on US-59 in the vicinty of Goodrich (Truckstop). The 18 wheeler was in the fast lane when an elderly Arkansas couple pulled out of a parking lot into the north-bound lanes and attempted to veer to the crossover in order to get to the south-bound lanes but failed to yield to the 18 wheeler. The driver of the 18 wheeler applied his brakes but it wasn't enough to avoid a collision. The 18 wheeler impacted the back of the SUV (Silver 2019 Cadillac XTS). The impact basically pushed the SUV into the center median causing it to turn over on its passenger's side. Allegiance Abulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Donny Akers and Allen Stanton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Fortunately there were no injuries. Volunteers helped the couple out of their turned over SUV. The 18 wheeler was driven from the scene while the SUV was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

Special thank you: Ken with Ken's Towing
