Hilton and Meeka are a pair of very lucky pigs. But that wasn't always the case. They were bought as tiny pigs by people who were told that they were both dwarf pigs that would grow no bigger than a chubby cat. They were given a loving home where they thrived and were adored.

But Meeka and Hilton thrived better than expected. And they grew much bigger than expected. By the time they had reached the size of an average dog, it was clear that they were not done growing and that they needed a much larger home.

These wonderful pigs were intelligent and affectionate and they were both full of personality. It would be very easy to find them a home on a farm, but sadly, most farm animals have a very limited life span with a predictable and unfortunate end. Their family needed to find them a home where they would be loved and cared for as pets, not as food. This was a difficult task. Pigs this size are not easy to re-home and they both deserved a happy and long life with freedom that couldn't be given by their current family.

Luckily, Meeka and Hilton found their way to a wonderful farm near Millbrook, Ontario. Wagging Tails Pet Resort is actually a dog boarding kennel that is located on a beautiful expanse of land in the country. But the owner, Lucy, has a very kind heart and a soft spot for animals. Many needy creatures have found their way to Lucy over the years. Some come from tragic circumstances and have a history of neglect and abuse. Others simply needed a home and couldn't find families that could properly care for them. However they reached her, these animals have now found a second chance at life and happiness with Lucy.

Lucy showers these pigs, and all her animals, with love. They get daily treats and belly rubs. They have learned trust and have found acceptance here. Hilton is particularly happy when he gets an apple slice or a chunk of watermelon. He even seems to smile as he chews and it's a grin on a face that you can't help but love. His gentle personality makes him endearing to everyone who meets him.

Meek is equally affectionate and loving, and she will fall over sideways on the ground if she senses that a belly rub is a possibility. She delights in fruit and veggies as well and even wags her tail with pure joy as she munches away on her treats.

It's heart warming to see these wonderful and intelligent animals finding their way from uncertainty to a forever home in a place as beautiful as this.
