Curious Great Dane Is Completely Fascinated By First Turtle Encounter
Wanna know how to keep a dog busy? Just check out a Great Dane completely losing it over a turtle! Ellie the Great Dane is having so many new experiences. Watch and laugh as she encounters a turtle for the first time. Her reaction is priceless!
The footage of this curious dog being introduced to a turtle will definitely brighten up your day. The adorable pooch is completely mind-blown by the mysterious creature hiding in the hard shell and wants to investigate the matter thoroughly, but lacks courage to do so! Every time Ellie dares to approach the turtle, she gets scared and retreats from her intention to befriend the critter. This pooch is dancing around the turtle, mesmerized by its weird appearance.
Doggie looks puzzled by the strange friend she encountered and tries to befriend it, but cannot handle its weird appearance. Who knows, maybe over time, Ellie will get used to being around the critter, and will engage in play mode. It is always adorable to see huge, bulky animals losing their courage around smaller creatures, like elephants go nuts around mice!
This is the funny moment captured on camera featuring a turtle scaring off a massive Great Dane dog. On its way to the pond, this slow critter encountered a pooch and engaged in a long eye-staring contest. Hilarious!
Apparently, this was Ellie’s first encounter with a crawling critter, so the pooch was completely fascinated by its appearance. Lowering over the turtle and staring at it, the pooch is carefully investigating what it’s made of.
Both dogs and turtles make wonderful pets, but our canine companions can hurt their reptilian housemates when left unsupervised with them, because dogs and tortoises are not a predictable mix. In some cases, the family dog that has never hurt a fly often becomes overwhelmed with an irresistible urge to chew on the tortoise.
You have to make sure that any interactions between your dog and your tortoise are closely supervised and make sure the tortoise is too large to be swallowed and teach your pooch some basic manners to prevent him from using Shelley as a chew toy!
Even the most docile dogs have a natural prey drive and a hefty dose of curiosity about new things. When a pooch sees a turtle, which is likely no larger than around 12 inches in size, the little reptile may appear to be a moving toy or potential prey to the dog.
